Almost 40 years ago, no one in their right mind could have conceived of the idea that would turn out to be today’s Bass Pro.
Bass Pro Shops has wrapped up its $5 billion acquisition of Cabela’s.
The two companies announced the transaction Monday, saying the corporate headquarters will be Bass Pro’s in Springfield, Mo.
Cabela’s has a Huntsville location, while Bass Pro Shops has stores in Leeds, Prattville and Spanish Fort.
The company says it will continue promoting both brands.
Bass Pro announced last year it would buy the company. Bass Pro paid $61.50 a share, or about $4 billion in cash, assuming about $1 billion in debt, according to the Omaha World-Herald.
