Home invasion suspect dies after he was shot by home owner in Hermitage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — UPDATE: Police have identified a home invasion suspect who died after being shot by a homeowner. Click here for the latest story.

Metro Nashville Police said a homeowner was attacked and shot an intruder during a home invasion on Wednesday night.

According to MNPD, the homeowner returned to his house on the 100 block of Richard Lee Circle in Hermitage to find two intruders inside. Police said he pulled out a gun at shot one of the intruders.

The other suspect took off on foot. Officers are searching for that suspect and urged neighbors to be vigilant. He was last seen running down Netherlands Drive, but police have since given that area the all clear.
