The Likely Lab Leak and the Covid Cassandra.

I thought I was done with writing about Covid-19. But Covid-19 isn’t done with me—or with any of us.

I’m writing this precisely four years after Chinese health officials first announced the emergence of a mysterious new form of pneumonia in the city of Wuhan. “No obvious human-to-human transmission has been observed,” the officials added in that December 30, 2019, release. (Already, the Chinese were lying.) Today, Covid cases are ticking up for the umpteenth time. And documents keep coming to light that expose how American officials and scientists similarly suppressed unsettling facts about the pandemic’s origins.

While the death rate from each new wave of Covid keeps dropping, the disturbing revelations about our public health leaders keep getting worse. In December 2023, a new disclosure revealed how leading U.S. virus experts lobbied to conduct dangerous gain-of-function research at the substandard Wuhan Institute of Virology laboratory. The latest leak provides yet more evidence that the pandemic likely emerged from a lab experiment gone awry, and that U.S. scientists actively covered up their possible role in that world-historical catastrophe.

After both the 1986 Challenger explosion and the 9/11 attacks, bipartisan commissions were convened to investigate the disasters. Covid has killed more than a million Americans and has cost our economy at least $14 trillion. And yet we see no great urgency to investigate the pandemic’s murky origins or prevent a recurrence. Republicans in Congress continue to hold productive hearings. But, according to the New York Times, the Biden administration is “privately resisting” pressure to create a 9/11-style commission on the pandemic. The press has largely moved on. And the public health officials most deeply involved in the debacle—including Anthony Fauci and his National Institutes of Health (NIH) colleague Francis Collins—continue to tap-dance around the truth, even after leaving their posts.

Pfizer Invests Billions in Treatments for Coming ‘Heart Failure Pandemic’

Pfizer is investing billions of dollars in treatments to prepare for a looming “heart failure pandemic.”

The Covid mRNA vaccine maker is making a big investment in treatment for heart failure as cases of myocarditis and sudden cardiac deaths skyrocket.

The pharmaceutical giant recently acquired several companies. This includes a major $6.7 billion cash acquisition of Arena Pharmaceuticals.

Arena Pharmaceuticals is a firm specializing in developing treatments, particularly for heart inflammation conditions like myocarditis and pericarditis.

Pfizer is now predicted to make tens of billions of dollars in profits from the spike in heart failure.

The company is expecting to capitalize on the huge spike in heart failure as sales of its Covid vaccines have now dried up.

The news comes as scientists are now warning that the latest Covid variant could trigger a “heart failure pandemic.”

Research into the new strain known as JN.1, could cause a “global healthcare risk” related to COVID-19.

Scientists claim this strain of the virus could start a “heart failure pandemic.”

Health experts have warned that there is an increase in the chances of potential heart issues for those who catch the disease.

Due to the influx of a new strain JN.1, there has been a spike in Covid cases in several countries.

Scientists are claiming that new strains are responsible for the spike in deadly heart failure that started in 2021.

Willow Bark Extract: A Revolutionary Antiviral From Nature.

Willow bark, already the origin of aspirin, could now be the key to a vital new antiviral medication.

From seasonal colds to stomach bugs, it’s clear that viral infections are unwelcome and epidemics can have catastrophic impacts. To address future outbreaks, the development of safe and sustainable antiviral treatments is crucial. In Finland, researchers have recently discovered that willow bark extract, a plant known for yielding various medicinal compounds including the basis for contemporary aspirin, exhibits a wide-ranging antiviral effect in laboratory cell studies.

The extract worked both on enveloped coronaviruses, which cause colds as well as COVID-19, and non-enveloped enteroviruses, which cause infections such as flu and meningitis. There are no clinically approved drugs that work against enteroviruses directly, so this extract could be a future game-changer.

Researchers find Boswellia, an extract of frankincense, shows anti-cancer activity in small trial

Extracts of a plant used in traditional medicine for centuries have shown anti-proliferative effects against breast cancer in a small early-stage clinical trial.

Researchers at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center provided breast cancer patients with an extract of the Boswellia tree—probably best known as the source of frankincense—and instructed them to take it each day until surgery. The researchers then compared the activity of cancer cells in each woman’s tumor removed during surgery with the activity in the piece of her tumor that was removed during the biopsy.

“We looked at differences in the growth rate of the tumors before and after treatment, and we found that the tumors after treatment had a lower growth rate compared to before treatment,” said Nancy Klauber-DeMore, M.D., a surgical oncologist and co-leader of Developmental Cancer Therapeutics at Hollings Cancer Center.

The adrenaline dump from such an incident can be very dangerous. For anyone over 50, the advice to go to the ER and get yourself checked out is good advice.

Homeowner fires shots at intruder during burglary in Kiski Township
Homeowner was later hospitalized for a medical issue

KISKIMINETAS TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
Police said a homeowner fired gunshots at an intruder during a burglary in Kiski Township, Armstrong County.

The incident happened a little after 8 p.m. Tuesday on the 1400 block of Ridge Road.

Police said no one was hit by the gunfire and no suspects have been identified.

Police also said the homeowner suffered a medical issue in the incident and was taken to a local hospital.

That homeowner’s condition is not yet known.

Well, I never had the jab, so there.

Had You Known, Would You Have Taken the Jab?

Would 92% of American adults have gotten a Covid shot had they known the “vaccines” only offered a 0.85% reduction in risk? Would young men have taken the jab if they had known it did not prevent transmission?

Americans came to understand that the media campaigns supporting the shots were fraudulent. The touted benefits – preventing infection and transmission – were lies. In response, fewer than one in five Americans elected to receive “boosters” despite multi-billion dollar propaganda campaigns.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has now brought a suit to bring accountability for the fraud that resulted in record profits for the pharmaceutical industry. Last week, he filed a complaint alleging that Pfizer misrepresented Covid vaccine efficacy and “conspired to censor public discourse” in violation of Texas’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA).

While Big Pharma enjoys immense government-provided insulation from legal liability for vaccine injuries, it cannot lie to promote those products.

Paxton alleges that the $75 billion Pfizer has raked in through sales of Covid vaccines were the “direct and proximate result” of the company’s deceit.

The DTPA requires Paxton prove two questions to succeed in his case. First, he must establish that the company lied or failed to disclose known information concerning its Covid vaccine. Second, he must prove that the company’s fraud was designed to promote sales of the shots.

Brownstone previously analyzed the applicability of the DTPA against Moderna. Now, Paxton’s lawsuit threatens Pfizer with fines of $10 million as well as awards of “restitution, damages, or civil penalties.”

Paxton’s case argues that Pfizer deceived the public on three issues: (1) the efficacy of the vaccine; (2) whether the shots reduced the risk of transmission; and (3) the company’s efforts to “censor[] persons who threatened to disseminate the truth.”

In each instance, the company skewed the public debate in order to induce Americans to take its shots. The efforts stripped us of the right to informed consent, deceiving us on purported benefits while hiding established risks.

Emergence of a New Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease: 26 Cases of the Human Version of Mad-Cow Disease, Days After a COVID-19 Injection

Abstract
Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, the formerly rare but universally fatal prion disease in humans, normally progresses over several decades before it leads to death. In the Appendix to this paper, we highlight the presence of a prion region in the spike protein of the original SARS-CoV-2, and in all the “vaccine” variants built from the Wuhan virus.
The prion region in the spike of SARS-CoV-2 has a density of mutations eight times greater than that of the rest of the spike, and, yet, strangely that entire prion region disappears completely in the Omicron variant.

In the main body of our text, we present 26 cases of Creuzfeldt-Jacob Disease, all diagnosed in 2021 with the first symptoms appearing within an average of 11.38 days after a Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca COVID-19 injection.
Because the causal progression, the etiopathogenesis, of these atypical and new cases of human prion disease — cases of what is apparently a totally new form of rapidly developing Creuzfeldt-Jacob Disease — we focus on the chronology of the symptomatic development.

We consider it from an anamnestic point of view — one in which we compare the typical development of pre-COVID cases of Creuzfeldt-Jacob Disease to the extremely accelerated development of similar symptoms in the 26 cases under examination. By such an approach, we hope to work out the etiopathogenesis critical to understanding this new and much more rapidly developing human prion disease.

By recalling the sequential pathway of that the formerly subacute and slowly developing disease followed in the past, and by comparing it with this new, extremely acute, rapidly developing prion disease — one following closely after one or more of the COVID-19 injections — we believe it is correct to infer that the injections caused the disease in these 26 cases.

If so, they have probably also caused a many other cases that have gone undiagnosed because of their rapid progression to death.
By late 2021, 20 had died within 4.76 months of the offending injection. Of those, 8 died suddenly within 2.5 months confirming the rapid progression of this accelerated form of Creuzfeldt-Jacob Disease.
By June 2022, 5 more patients had died, and at the time of this current writing, only 1 remains still alive.

An uncle who died from melanoma may have contributed to this by volunteering to be a Guinea Pig for experimental treatments

Melanoma vaccine may improve survival, study shows.

A new melanoma vaccine has shown its mettle in battling the deadly skin cancer in a new trial.

People with advanced melanomas who received the vaccine plus Merck’s cancer drug Keytruda were 49% less likely to die or have their cancer return after three years than those who were given only Keytruda, vaccine maker Moderna Inc. announced Friday.

“Importantly for this technology, the… study was the first demonstration of efficacy for an investigational mRNA cancer treatment in a randomized clinical trial and the first combination therapy to show a significant benefit over Keytruda alone in adjuvant melanoma,” Moderna Senior Vice President Dr. Kyle Holen said in a company news release. “We look forward to sharing these data with people impacted by this disease and the broader scientific community.”

The findings are based on an ongoing randomized trial involving 157 patients with high-risk stage 3/4 melanoma who first had surgery to completely remove cancerous growths.

Patients got 1 milligram (mg) of the mRNA vaccine every three weeks for a total of nine doses, along with 200 mg of Keytruda every three weeks for about a year. Their outcomes were compared to those using Keytruda alone for approximately a year.

The companies have already begun Phase 3 trials of the vaccine-drug combo, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has designated the treatment as a breakthrough therapy, to speed its development and review.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer, with melanoma accounting for about 1% of skin cancer cases in the United States. That said, it is responsible for most skin cancer deaths, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS). About 97,610 new melanomas will be diagnosed in the United States this year, with nearly 8,000 deaths, the ACS stated.

Lefty Pseudo-Think Tank Attacks Medicare Advantage In Effort to Push Americans Toward Medicare-For-All

The annual open enrollment period for Medicare Advantage passed just about a week ago, and as it did, an interesting thing happened: A benign and very academic- and intellectual-sounding group called the Center for Economic Policy and Research pushed out a negative piece about Medicare Advantage. The report was written back in September before the open enrollment period began (and ended)—but it managed to get a write-up just as the open enrollment period closed—which is curious if the point of the report was to inform consumers before they made their enrollment decision.

Even more curious is who funds the Center for Economic Policy and Research, given what the Center has to say. Although Medicare Advantage is hugely popular with senior citizens and should be with taxpayers, given that it is a big cost-saver over traditional Medicare, the Center for Economic Policy and Research really, really dislikes it. Really, really, really.

And the Center really, really, really likes traditional fee-for-service Medicare—you know, the thing that progressives are trying to establish as the health care system for all Americans in the wake of Obamacare turning out to be a disaster and other efforts at health care reform stalling out. It turns out that the donor list for the Center is a veritable who’s who of big lefty foundations. Here’s a screenshot of their current donor list:

A few names will immediately jump out at conservatives, starting with the National Education Association. That’s the biggest teachers’ union in the country.

Less known, but even more important names are the Tides Foundation and the Bernard & Anne Spitzer Family Charitable Trust.

Tides has, over the years, taken donations from a bevy of lefty donors perhaps most famously including Barbra Streisand; it had over $1.4 billion in assets in 2022. Another big backer has been George Soros, who, coincidentally, has also donated to the Center.

But what is the Bernard & Anne Spitzer Family Charitable Trust? I’m glad you asked. It turns out it’s the family trust established by Eliot Spitzer’s parents (yes, that Eliot Spitzer).

When you consider the donors, it’s unsurprising that the Center would be advocating for a policy position that shuts down a private alternative to Medicare; what progressives want is to push more Americans into Medicare and ultimately, enact Medicare-for-All—or at least a “public option,” which would probably lay the foundation for Medicare-for-All to be enacted—nationwide.

This is not likely to happen while seniors keep choosing Medicare Advantage (and a majority of them do) and while public officials keep backing it because they know that Medicare Advantage is better for taxpayers in a time of high debt and deficits. But that’s what the left wants, so intellectual- and academic-sounding reports going after Medicare Advantage funded by the left will continue to crop up.

What’s perhaps most interesting here is how healthcare providers—think big hospital systems—seem to be lining up with the left on this issue.

During the open enrollment period, there was a massive uptick in articles covering hospital systems’ displeasure with Medicare Advantage because purportedly Medicare Advantage plans pay health care providers, who we have recently learned did not in fact do financially badly at all out of the pandemic, “too little” as compared to traditional fee-for-service Medicare. What this actually means is that providers prefer the option that pays them more—traditional Medicare—even though that payment mechanism is entirely taxpayer-funded, and does little to limit cost (why the providers like it).

Traditional Medicare is what is driving debt and deficits and proving financially unsustainable. Per Money, “Medicare trustees say the Part A program will begin running deficits again in 2025, drawing down the trust fund until it depletes in 2031. After that date, the program would not be bringing in enough money to fully pay out Part A benefits.”

At the same time, Medicare Advantage is offering seniors—and taxpayers—an alternative that preserves healthcare access while affording additional benefits traditional Medicare does not provide—but makes the math work by having healthcare provider networks. That is not what hospital systems want, and it is not what the left wants—even though in vastly more socialized healthcare systems than the US (take the United Kingdom, for example) costs are absolutely minimized by limiting patients’ access to rearms of healthcare providers.

Republicans lately have seemed to be more susceptible to arguments driven by hospitals and by academic, intellectual-sounding arguments from the likes of the Center for Economic Policy and Research, that maybe Medicare Advantage isn’t actually advantageous over traditional fee-for-service Medicare. This is a major reversal from the era when the GOP was committed to fighting Obamacare because, among other things, it cut Medicare Advantage—which amounted to cutting Medicare for a ton of beneficiaries. A little caution might be warranted here, considering the very lefty philosophical and hardened financial interests at play in this debate.

Total Meat Intake is Associated with Life Expectancy: A Cross-Sectional Data Analysis of 175 Contemporary Populations

Results

Worldwide, bivariate correlation analyses revealed that meat intake is positively correlated with life expectancies. This relationship remained significant when influences of caloric intake, urbanization, obesity, education and carbohydrate crops were statistically controlled. Stepwise linear regression selected meat intake, not carbohydrate crops, as one of the significant predictors of life expectancy. In contrast, carbohydrate crops showed weak and negative correlation with life expectancy.

25% of Vaxxed Now Have VAIDS, Cambridge Scientists Warn

A bombshell study conducted by top scientists at the world-renowned Cambridge University in England has concluded that 25 percent of all people vaccinated with Covid mRNA shots now have Vaccine-Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (VAIDS).

According to the study, one in four people who received a Covid mRNA injection suffered an “unintended immune response.”

However, the scientists note in their paper that the “unintended immune response” was “created by a glitch.”

While the Cambridge scientists and corporate media outlets attribute the damage to the immune systems as a “glitch” or “unintended” response, experts have been raising the alarm for some time about the effects on individuals’ immune systems.

Slay News has long been reporting on such findings.

“Cambridge scientists found such vaccines were not perfect and sometimes led to nonsense proteins being made instead of the desired Covid ‘spike’, which mimics infection and leads to antibody production,” the UK Telegraph reports.

“It was thought the minor tweak to uridine caused no problems in cells, but a team of researchers at the University of Cambridge’s Medical Research Council (MRC) Toxicology Unit have now found when this partially synthetic code is read, the protein-making machine in the body sometimes struggles with the uridine analogs.”

“These findings were shared with medicines regulator MHRA around a year ago, the scientists say, and updated vaccines that use the improved form of mRNA are in the works for cancer jabs, and other therapeutics,” the report adds.

What many may not realize is, that if a relative sent in their DNA sample, yours was compromised as well.

23andMe confirms hackers stole ancestry data on 6.9 million users.

On Friday, genetic testing company 23andMe announced that hackers accessed the personal data of 0.1% of customers, or about 14,000 individuals. The company also said that by accessing those accounts, hackers were also able to access “a significant number of files containing profile information about other users’ ancestry.” But 23andMe would not say how many “other users” were impacted by the breach that the company initially disclosed in early October.

As it turns out, there were a lot of “other users” who were victims of this data breach: 6.9 million affected individuals in total.

In an email sent to TechCrunch late on Saturday, 23andMe spokesperson Katie Watson confirmed that hackers accessed the personal information of about 5.5 million people who opted-in to 23andMe’s DNA Relatives feature, which allows customers to automatically share some of their data with others. The stolen data included the person’s name, birth year, relationship labels, the percentage of DNA shared with relatives, ancestry reports and self-reported location.

Language heard while still in the womb found to impact brain development.

A team of neuroscientists at the University of Padua, in Italy, working with a colleague from CNRS and Université Paris Cité, has found evidence suggesting that neural development of babies still in the womb is impacted by the language they hear spoken by their mothers as they carry them.

In their paper published in the journal Science Advances, the group describes research they conducted with newborn babies fitted with EEG caps.

Prior research has shown that babies still in the womb (starting at about seven months) can hear when their mother speaks. They can also hear other sounds, such as other voices, music, and general noise. They can also recognize their mother’s voice after birth and specific melodies related to her speech. Less well understood is what sort of impact hearing such things has on the neural development of the baby’s . To learn more, the research team in Italy conducted an experiment involving 33 newborns and their mothers—all of whom were native French speakers.

The experiments consisted of fitting all the newborn volunteers with caps that allowed for EEG monitoring in the days after birth. As the babies slept, the researchers played recordings of a person reading different language versions of the book, “Goldilocks, and the Three Bears.” EEG recordings began during a period of silence before the book was played, continued through the reading and also during another moment of silence afterward.

In studying the EEG readouts, the research team found that the babies listening to the story in French showed an increase in long-range temporal correlations—all of a type that has previously been associated with speech perception and its processing. The researchers suggest this finding is evidence of the baby’s brain being impacted in a unique way by exposure to a unique language while still in utero—in this case, French.

The researchers also conducted detrended fluctuation analysis on the EEG readings as a means of measuring the strength of the temporal correlations and found them to be strongest in the theta band, which prior research has shown is associated with syllable-level speech units. This, the team suggests, shows that the infants’ brains became attuned to the linguistic elements present in the language they had heard.

The research team also found that the baby’s neural response was most strongly seen in the EEG readings when the book was being read in French, suggesting that prenatal exposure to a given language played a role in their brain neural development.

Pathogens Labeled ‘HIV’ and ‘Ebola’ Found Inside Secret, Illegal Chinese-Owned Biolab in California

Thousands of vials of biological substances — including some labeled “HIV” — and a freezer marked “Ebola” were found inside a secret Chinese-owned biolab in California which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and FBI initially refused to investigate, according to a House committee report released Wednesday.

The illegal lab was operated in the city of Reedley, Calif., and the potential public safety risk it posed only came to light in December 2022 when Jesalyn Harper, an observant code enforcement officer, noticed a green garden hose sticking out of a hole in the side of a warehouse that was thought to be vacant for more than a decade.

Once inside, Harper discovered laboratory equipment, manufacturing devices, medical-grade freezers, lab mice and vials labeled in Mandarin, English and in a code that remains undeciphered.

She also encountered several individuals in lab coats who identified themselves as Chinese nationals.

TRANS ANOMALY: Nashville Shooter’s Manifesto Suggests an Inconvenient Aspect of ‘Gender-Affirming Care.’

The vast majority of mass shooters are male, and male biochemistry helps to explain why. Yet the person who opened fire at Nashville’s Covenant School was biologically female.

Higher amounts of the hormone testosterone give men larger muscles, more significant skeletal muscle, and a higher percentage of red blood cells. Testosterone also tends to give men unwarranted self-confidence and aggression, a dangerous cocktail for unmoored youth.

According to the Justice Department’s research, published in February 2022, 97.7% of mass shooters in the U.S. have been male. Thankfully, the Justice Department seems to have acknowledged the biological truth—at least for now—despite President Joe Biden’s radical advocacy of transgender ideology.

On March 27, however, a 28-year-old female by the name of Audrey Elizabeth Hale opened fire at The Covenant School, a Presbyterian school in Nashville. Before police shot and killed her, Hale killed three children and three adults—Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, all 9; Cynthia Peak, 61; Katherine Koonce, 60; and Mike Hill, 61, according to Fox News.

What explains this female mass shooter? News reports give some indication, although three pages of her manifesto, recently revealed, also shine a light on the situation.

Although Hale was female, she reportedly identified as male and went by the name Aiden.

Police discovered a manifesto at the scene of the shooting, but unlike in so many other mass shootings where authorities publish a shooter’s white nationalist screeds almost immediately, authorities sought to keep Hale’s manifesto secret.

Nashville Police Chief John Drake begrudgingly confirmed that the three pages published Monday by commentator Stephen Crowder did indeed come from Hale’s manifesto.

“I am greatly disturbed by today’s unauthorized release of three pages of writings from the Covenant shooter,” Drake wrote. The police chief announced an investigation into the leak, noting that the court system has control of the shooter’s journals due to pending litigation.

The police department has suspended seven detectives in relation to the leak.

The three pages revealed the sick mind of a mass shooter. In them, Hale expresses hatred for white people, whom she refers to as “crackers.”

Comparative Risks of Myocarditis and Pericarditis with mRNA, Adenoviral DNA, and Spike Antigen Vaccines
WHO VigiBase Gives Rare Look at Differential Risks

Early in the COVID-19 vaccine campaign people used to ask me “which vaccine is the safest?” Americans have never been given an analysis of comparative safety among the available COVID-19 vaccines. The US military, corporations, schools, and other entities mandating the vaccines never cared which one was taken. There was no interest in determining “the best” COVID-19 vaccine. President Biden infamously said “just get vaccinated.”

The US CDC has pushed the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines because their marketing firm Weber Shandwick has a promotional unit inside the CDC vaccine office in Atlanta. The NIH is the co-owner of the Moderna mRNA patent. The US government is among the top licensees of mRNA patents. This obvious corruption and conflict of interest has misled the country. Among Americans who took a vaccine, 94% received an mRNA vaccine.

Saint-Gerons et al reported on 61,812 cases of myocarditis, pericarditis, and myopericarditis in the WHO VigiBase and found all three major classes of vaccines have elevated risks, however the mRNA vaccines consistently are the most risky. However for pericarditis alone, the Spike protein antigen vaccine from Novavax had the largest point-estimate. Because of the small numbers, the measures of central tendency are a statistical blur and we must rely to a greater degree on confidence intervals. There were 61 cases of myocarditis/pericarditis with Novavax and none were fatal. While overall Novavax is probably the safest vaccine, I can tell you as a cardiologist, cardiac risks are too high for any heart specialist to recommend COVID-19 vaccination.
