“Arms are the only true badges of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of a free man from a slave.” — Andrew Fletcher (1698!)

Observation O’ The Day

The Real Biden Peeks out From Behind the Mask.

The problem wasn’t just that Biden was being nasty, using a curse word and trying to diminish press who dares question him. It’s also that he doesn’t have the basic judgment left to understand it will be picked up on the mic and come back to bite him. This was the second time in the past week where he attacked a reporter, also striking out at Fox’s Jacqui Heinrich, calling her question about being reactive to Putin a “stupid question.”

Quote O’ The Day
If you get rid of all the guns, you will still have knife and crossbow violence problems. If you get rid of the violent criminals you won’t have a gun, knife, or crossbow violence problem.—Joe Huffman

In Seattle:

Police are gathering information after a man was shot in the chest by a crossbow in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

The Seattle Fire Department said the man, who is in his 30’s, was in critical condition when crews rushed him to the hospital.

Quote O’ The Day

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms has been recognized by the General Government; but the best security of that right after all is, the military spirit, that taste for martial exercises, which has always distinguished the free citizens of these States….Such men form the best barrier to the liberties of America” — Gazette of the United States, October 14, 1789.

Observation O’ The Day

Those words clearly indicate that even at that early point in our nation’s history, the right was ‘recognized’ and thus was a preexisting right, not a right given to the people by the goobermint. Of course, the Supreme Court reaffirmed that in the U.S. v Cruickshank case in 1876-“This is not a right granted by the Constitution. Neither is it in any manner dependent upon that instrument for its existence.“. And the latter part makes clear that while the populace has that right, the will to use it when necessary is just as important.

That is all…………….

“The Bill of Rights is largely a prescription for preventing government from restricting the flow of information and ideas. But the Founding Fathers did not foresee that tyranny by government might be superseded by another sort of problem altogether, namely, the corporate state, which through television now controls the flow of public discourse in America.”
― Neil Postman

Quote O’ The Day:
Many in our ruling class see what’s happened in Hong Kong as a role model. They need to be made to regret their choice.

BLUF:
In the final days of 2021, the Ruling Class limped to the finish line, personified by its confused, irritable and frail figurehead—the president of the United States.

It is stuck between its lust for power and its imperative to strangle its political opposition on the one hand, and its desire to survive—with the American people rejecting its reign at the ballot box in 2021, and threatening an even greater rejection in 2022—on the other hand.

Let us resolve in this new year to make the Ruling Class’ worst fear a reality—to punish it for the suffering it has inflicted on our republic.

2021: The Year of the Ruling Class’s Crackdown on Dissent.

The year 2020 was the year of the lockdown, when the Ruling Class arbitrarily, capriciously and selectively suspended the natural rights bedrock upon which American life—indeed, life itself—relies.

The year 2021 closes as the year of the crackdown, when the Ruling Class weaponized its powers to crush dissenters from its Wokeist-Scientist orthodoxy in arguably the most far-reaching, brazen and lawless assault on Americans by the state and its private-sector adjuncts in our nation’s history.

This was the year that the campus became the country. Those engaging in speech that ran afoul of the Ruling Class’ party line were treated as physical dangers to the homeland, demanding the full force of the public and private sectors to deter, punish and subdue them.

Every free-thinking individual became a potential Donald Trump, liable to be ostracized, harassed and punished for daring to cross the regime in a society-wide Russiagate.

January 6, for which the scope of the Ruling Class’ own role is still unfolding, served as the bridge from Trump to his tens of millions of supporters that the conquering Ruling Class trod over, as foretold in its wake.

A national strategy for countering “domestic terrorism,” associated homeland security threat bulletins and official DOJ/FBI policy directives made crushing dissent an official state objective.

Civil society’s commanding heights worked hand in glove with the regime, for it is part and parcel of it. Censorship, algorithmic suppression, deplatforming, cancelation, social media mobs, sackings, subpoenas, show trials, surveillance—these became part of the daily drumbeat, desensitizing us to what we would usually recognize as both abnormal and un-American.

Periodic purges of social media accounts now look quaint. Today, everyday Americans may not only easily lose their ability to communicate in the digital public square, but also to bank, to work or to raise a family in peace should they engage in an ever-shifting list of thoughtcrimes—or even refuse to get a jab of an experimental drug.

“Harry Reid fundamentally & permanently altered the Senate, created America’s current political landscape, paved the way for Donald Trump, & made it possible to put Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, & Barrett on the Supreme Court.”

In other words, the scumbag demoncrap Reid managed to do more damage to his partai’s plans than any opponent. Ahhhhhh HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

Quote O’ The Day

“Beverly Hills residents have organized themselves, block-by-block and in nine city zones, for self-defense. The emergency preparedness committees, Just in Case Beverly Hills, were started by Vera Markowitz, a former 1960s radical who was a member of the New Left Students for a Democratic Society before moving to Beverly Hills.”

(Sound a lot like the Grupos de Autodefensas down in Mexico, doesn’t it?)

Question O’ The Day
I wonder how many of them didn’t realize that California has a 15 day waiting period before they could get their guns?

I have no sympathy for them. They sowed to the wind when they voted their proggie politics into office.

Beverly Hills residents arming themselves with guns in wake of violence

“I’ve always been anti-gun,” said Debbie Mizrahie of Beverly Hills. “But I am right now in the process of getting myself shooting lessons because I now understand that there may be a need for me to know how to defend myself and my family. We’re living in fear.”

During Black Lives Matter protests last year, Mizrahie told The Post, her neighbor’s home was firebombed with Molotov cocktails.

“My kids were outside and they saw a huge explosion,” she said. “[The neighbor’s] backyard went up in smoke. Trees burned down … But it’s only gotten worse. Beverly Hills has been targeted.”

Mizrahie, a 40-something mother of two teenagers, isn’t alone. Ever since the protests last year descended into riots and lootings, a growing number of Beverly Hills residents have been buying weapons.

“It’s gotten to a point where residents feel insecure even going from their door to their car,” said resident Shirley Reitman. “A lot of residents are applying for a concealed carry weapon permit, even though that’s a great challenge in LA County.”

According to LA County Sheriff Alejandro Villanueva, the department has received 8,105 concealed carry weapon applications and approved 2,102 of them since he took office in December 2018, compared to his predecessor having issued 194 permits in four years.

“Even hardcore leftist Democrats who said to me in the past, ‘I’ll never own a gun’ are calling me asking about firearms,” said Joel Glucksman, a private security executive. “I’d say there has been an increase of 80 percent in the number of requests I’m getting this year.”

“It’s Coming” — New York Gov. Hochul Declares State of Emergency Due to Omicron Variant

New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D for demoncrap) declared a state of emergency due to the new “Omicron” Covid variant spreading in Africa.

The declaration goes into effect on December 3 and gives the Health Department the power to limit “non-essential” procedures (will likely be enforced through the lens of equity) at hospitals.

“We continue to see warning signs of spikes this upcoming winter, and while the new Omicron variant has yet to be detected in New York State, it’s coming,” Hochul said……………….

South African medical association says Omicron variant causes ‘mild disease’

JOHANNESBURG: The new Omicron variant of the coronavirus results in mild disease, without prominent syndromes, Angelique Coetzee, the chairwoman of the South African Medical Association, told Sputnik on Saturday.

The World Health Organization (WHO) identified on Friday the new South African strain as one of concern, as it is reported to carry a high number of mutations — 32 — which possibly makes it more transmissible and dangerous. The WHO has dubbed it Omicron, the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet.
“It presents mild disease with symptoms being sore muscles and tiredness for a day or two not feeling well. So far, we have detected that those infected do not suffer loss of taste or smell. They might have a slight cough. There are no prominent symptoms. Of those infected some are currently being treated at home,” Coetzee said
The official noted that hospitals have not been overburdened by Omicron patients and that the new strain is not been detected in vaccinated persons. At the same time, the situation might be different for the unvaccinated.
“We will only know this after two weeks. Yes, it is transmissible, but for now, as medical practitioners, we do not know why so much hype is being driven as we are still looking into it. We will only know after two to three weeks as there are some patients admitted and these are young people aged 40 and younger,” Coetzee added.

The chairwoman also criticized the decision by some countries to ban flights from South Africa is premature as there is not enough information on how dangerous it is.

Following the reports about the new variant, the United States, the European Union, Canada, Israel, Australia and other countries have restricted travel from several southern African nations over the health concerns.

Quote O’ The Day

“Before he was elected mayor of New York City last week, Eric Adams raised some eyebrows by saying he would carry a handgun to protect himself and any houses of worship he might visit. While those remarks were controversial, the real scandal is that ordinary New Yorkers cannot legally carry guns for self-defense — a privilege that Adams takes for granted as a former police officer.”

Supreme Court should reject law that keeps ordinary people from carrying guns for self-defense

Iran-Backed Houthi Terrorists Plunge Biden Into His Second Hostage Crisis.

When we wondered how a President could ever deliver worse foreign AND domestic policy than Jimmy Carter, we never dreamt that someone would be dumb enough to take that as a challenge. Then again, we never dreamt the Democrats would nominate someone known during his Senate career as a blowhard who wasn’t too bright. Some of his senate colleagues described him as fifteen pounds of crap in a ten-pound bag.

Now, not even a year into his Presidency, Biden’s America faces its second hostage crisis.

You Know About ONE Crisis…

As for the first one, most of the media has already swept it under the rug. But we all still know that some Americans, the families of some Americans, and people with every right to enter America lawfully with a Green Card were trapped in a country being run by the same terrorist group with whom we’ve just concluded a 20-year war.

When heroic Americans have worked to exfiltrate them to neighboring countries, Biden’s State Department has worked at cross purposes from helping them land in other countries.

They demonstrated their open contempt for all types of border security, whether at our southern border or that  Afghan airlift they bragged about in August.

But Have You Heard About THIS One?

Iran-backed Houthi terrorists attacked a US Embassy, taking control and seizing hostages. A specific reversal of policy in Biden’s first month worked to the advantage of those rebels.

While we may not have any Americans working in that embassy at the moment, we DO have locals working on behalf of American interests. They have been attacked, our property seized, and our embassy was taken.

Houthi fighters reportedly took the compound on Wednesday, demanding “large quantities of equipment and materials,” per the Middle East Media Research Institute. Yemen has been embroiled in a brutal civil war between the Houthi rebels — who are backed, financed, and armed by the Iranian government —and the standing Yemeni government, which has the support of Saudi Arabia. The conflict is oftentimes described as a “proxy war” being fought by the two Yemeni sides on the ground, but largely on behalf of the two larger powers.

Within a month of taking office, President Joe Biden removed the foreign-terrorist organization designation placed on the Houthis by the Trump administration. The designation had cut the Houthis “off from financial support and other material resources that are routed through U.S. banks or other American institutions.” Secretary of State Antony Blinken called the decision “a recognition of the dire humanitarian situation in Yemen.”

The Trump administration’s designation had included a carve-out authorizing the Treasury Department “to provide licenses pursuant to its authorities and corresponding guidance that relate to the official activities of the United States government in Yemen, including assistance programming that continues to be the largest of any donor and the official activities of certain international organizations such as the United Nations.” At the same time as the removal of the foreign terrorist label, Biden also announced the cessation of “all American support for offensive operations in the war in Yemen, including relevant arms sales.” Previously, the U.S. had been backed the Yemeni government,

Yes, you read that correctly. Thanks to Joe Biden’s personal decision, we have been giving terrorists money. Just like he gave an allowance to the Taliban, they have ‘thanked’ him by seizing our embassy.  The Houthis are closely aligned to the Iranian muftis.  Taking them off the terrorist list was a way for Biden to “make nice” to his new Iranian friends—help him capitulate into a new nuclear deal.

Great call, Joe.

They first tried to say the 2nd didn’t mean what it plainly said.
Now they apparently acknowledge it does mean what it says, but it’s not relevant.
I think they know they have nothing but BS left to support their BS.

They are right about 2 things though:

1 The gun debate has gone far beyond judicial interpretations of the Second Amendment and these days has much more to do with personal, political and partisan identity.
2 Before you even get to the Constitution, there’s a huge array of other laws super protecting the right to keep and bear arms.

Why the Second Amendment may be losing relevance in gun debate

In the bitter debate over gun control, battle lines are often drawn around the Second Amendment, with many in favor of gun rights pointing to it as the source of their constitutional authority to bear arms, and some in favor of tighter gun control disagreeing with that interpretation.

But if the purpose of the debate is to reduce the tragic human toll of gun violence, the focus on Second Amendment is often misplaced, according to many experts on guns and the Constitution.

Joseph Blocher, professor of law and co-director of the Center for Firearms Law at Duke Law School, described the patchwork of state laws that exists across the country as a “buffer zone” for the Second Amendment.

“Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don’t mean to do harm; but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.” –T.S. Eliot.
