Chevy Volt Short-Circuit: Virtue-Signaling GM Exec Gets Owned on Clean Energy

What really powers electric vehicles like the Chevy Volt” is not a question GM Environment and Energy Policy executive Kristin Zimmerman is comfortable answering, as you’ll see in today’s must-watch clip.

“Everybody thought we killed the electric vehicle,” Zimmerman told reporters in Lansing, Mich. on Thursday, referencing the automaker’s long-dead EV1 from the late ’90s. It was even the topic of a mocking 2006 documentary, Who Killed the Electric Car?, narrated by lefty activist and occasional ham actor, Martin Sheen.

“But no, we didn’t,” Zimmerman bragged after showing off a brand-new Chevy Volt and charging station. “It’s alive and well.”

Then things went south when someone asked, “So what’s charging the batteries right now?”

Just to be clear, Zimmerman is no dummy. She has multiple degrees, including a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics. As you’re about to see, it isn’t that she doesn’t know the answer — it’s that she doesn’t seem to want to admit it while showing off GM’s renewed EV efforts.

“Well, it’s here,” Zimmerman said. “It’s coming from the building.”

You can’t make this stuff up. Just watch the clip already.

When pressed, Zimmerman said, “Actually, Lansing feeds the building,” referring to the local utility company. “Lansing feeds power to the building.”

“I bet you they’re a bit of coal. Oh, they’re heavy on natural gas, aren’t they?”

No.

Peter Lark, from the Lansing Board of Water & Light, said, “Our grid… is about 95% coal.”

And there you have it, folks: The Car of Tomorrow, powered by the dirty fuel of 19th Century locomotives.

Juror Perspective from the Kyle Rittenhouse Self Defense Trial ~ VIDEO

U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)-— The trial of Kyle Rittenhouse was covered extensively on AmmoLand News by this correspondent. During the coverage, Kevin Mathewson of the Kenosha County Eye provided wonderful insight.  Six months after the trial, Kevin Mathewson interviewed one of the jurors who was on the Rittenhouse Jury.

As many may remember, the jury found Kyle Rittenhouse not guilty on all counts, because he was acting in justified self-defense.

Kevin Mathewson has graciously allowed this correspondent to use his article at AmmoLand News.  The insight shows the basic structure of the jury system works as it should when populated by people who believe in doing the correct thing with honor. Quotes from the Kenosha County Eye are in italics. “Do Something” Is Not A Serious Policy And Will Not Prevent Mass Shootings

BLUF
Any number of factors could be at play, including the proclivity of fire to break out at these plants, supply chain stresses, deferred maintenance, and the possibility of insurance fraud and arson, which is hardly unheard of. We have also seen some high-profile cyberattacks, and the FBI has warned that more could be on the way.

So, while no trend has emerged, it’s still something to keep an eye on, and it continues to cause more stress on an already overburdened domestic food supply system.

Update on Food Plants Blowing Up: More Explosions, More Stress on Domestic Food Supply

Over the past several weeks, PJ Media has covered the growing number of food plants across America that have caught fire, exploded, or had planes crash into them. More food processing plants, and more industrial fires of note, have occurred since those reports.

As we reported on May 2:

To be crystal clear: no pattern has yet emerged. The incidents still appear random. Nobody has produced a connection between all these incidents. There are just a LOT of them, and they’re continuing.

The FBI has not made any mention of the fires, plane crashes, and explosions, but it has issued an alert about cyberattacks possibly timed to disrupt the grain harvest season.

Well, in the subsequent month, several more incidents have occurred.

Last week, a large chicken processing facility burned in Minnesota, killing tens of thousands of chickens.

That came on the heels of another large chicken processing facility catching fire. On May 23, the Cargill plant in London, Ontario, suffered “significant damage” from a large fire over a holiday weekend.

Jack Carr Rips Politicians Trying To Restrict The Second Amendment, Reminds People It’s A ‘Natural Right’ To ‘Defend The Gift Life’

Jack Carr isn’t a fan of people trying to restrict the Second Amendment.

I sat down with the legendary author and former SEAL to discuss a variety of topics, and I asked him what his thoughts were on politicians applauding arming people in other countries while at the same time supporting gun control in the USA. His answer didn’t disappoint!

“You can’t make this stuff up. It’s insane to me that the hypocrisy, I’m sure there’s hypocrisy all through politics, but particularly on this issue on the left wanting to restrict your rights to own a firearm, to defend the gift of life, something that is explicitly written down as the Second Amendment, and it’s a natural right. You know, it’s not given to us by the government. It’s just written down so that the government can’t restrict it. That’s a natural right,” Carr explained when talking about the Second Amendment and hypocritical politicians.

You can listen to his full comments below.

The DC Project, Women for Gun Rights, a nationwide grassroots organization of women dedicated to safeguarding the Second Amendment, today released a new video titled, We’re on Offense Now.
