Time for consequences.<\/a><\/p>\n

The “Cabal” who bragged about rigging the 2020 election stuck us with an incapable president at a time of crisis. Examples need to be made.<\/em><\/p>\n

The bloom is off the Biden presidency.<\/p>\n

In 2020, we were told that he would bring about a return to normalcy.\u00a0 Bring America respect abroad.\u00a0 Calm down our \u201cchaotic\u201d domestic political scene.\u00a0 And make government respectable again.<\/p>\n

How\u2019s he doing?\u00a0 Well, let\u2019s review some headlines from this weekend\u2019s\u00a0New York Times,<\/em>\u00a0normally a reliable booster of Democratic presidents, good, bad, or indifferent.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Challenges of an Aging President.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. President, Ditch the Stealth About Health.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Question Is Not If Biden Should Step Aside.\u00a0 It\u2019s How.\u201d<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t news to Americans, of course.\u00a0 As an ABC News poll,\u00a0 also out this weekend, illustrated, an overwhelming majority of Americans think that Biden is\u00a0too old for another term.<\/a><\/p>\n

The bloom is off the Biden presidency.<\/p>\n

Last week\u2019s Special Counsel report over Biden\u2019s mishandling of classified documents basically found the same thing.\u00a0 While the Special Counsel recommended that Biden not be prosecuted for what seemed like clear violations of the law governing secret papers, the reason for his recommendation was that Biden is too old and out of it to be put on trial.<\/p>\n

Biden didn\u2019t help himself when he turned down the traditional Super Bowl interview, presumably \u2013 as James Carville helpfully\u00a0pointed out<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 because that would have called attention to his inability to string two sentences together coherently.\u00a0 Carville called it a \u201csign\u201d that Biden\u2019s own administration doesn\u2019t have confidence in him.<\/p>\n

And Hillary Clinton even twisted the knife, calling Biden\u2019s age a \u201clegitimate issue.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As reliable Democratic weathervane Maureen Dowd\u00a0observed<\/a>\u00a0in her NYT column, \u201cJill Biden and his other advisers come up with ways to obscure signs of senescence \u2014 from shorter news conferences to almost zero print interviews to TV interviews mainly with fawning MSNBC anchors.\u00a0 But many Americans are quite concerned about the 81-year-old president\u2019s crepuscular mien. It\u2019s the elephant in the room \u2014 except that elephants never forget.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, elephants are Republican.\u00a0 As the Special Counsel noted, Biden forgets a lot.\u00a0 He couldn\u2019t even remember when his son Beau died of cancer (Biden often says, falsely, that Beau was killed while fighting in Iraq) or even when he, Biden, was Vice President.\u00a0 Indeed, as long ago as 2017, when Biden was working with the ghostwriter for his memoirs, he had serious\u00a0memory issues.<\/a><\/p>\n

But Biden was propped up and protected through the 2020 election process by the media and tech moguls and \u201cdeep state\u201d operatives who were desperate to get rid of Trump.\u00a0 Shortly after the election, they were even bragging about what they did.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0<\/a>Time<\/a><\/em>\u00a0magazine reported<\/a>\u00a0shortly after the 2020 election, a \u201ccabal\u201d \u2014 Time\u2019s word \u2014 of \u201cleft-wing activists and business titans\u201d worked to get rid of Trump. It pushed mail-in voting. It moved to block election fraud suits brought by Trump and supporters. It employed social media censorship to mute pro-Trump arguments and amplify anti-Trump arguments. It sponsored protests.<\/p>\n

Time<\/em>\u00a0called this a \u201cconspiracy to save the election,\u201d but in truth it was a conspiracy to\u00a0save the election for the Democrats<\/em>. The consequences in terms of lost faith in democracy have been severe, but the worst effect is that the winning ticket was never seriously vetted by the media or the campaign process.<\/p>\n

Now we have that president in office, and he\u2019s manifestly unfit.\u00a0 (In the event of the nuclear attack, a President is supposed to attend a \u201cmissile threat\u201d teleconference that has roughly 15 minutes to decide how to respond before it\u2019s too late. Sometimes he will only have\u00a0six minutes.<\/a>\u00a0 Does anyone think Slow Joe could do that?)<\/p>\n

He\u2019s so unfit that not only have Americans noticed, but the Democratic and media establishments (but I repeat myself) have started pointing it out, instead of concealing it.<\/p>\n

They want to replace him, but it\u2019s awkward.\u00a0 His Vice President, Kamala Harris, also seems unable to string sentences together coherently, and she lacks even the excuse of senility.\u00a0 Ditching her will be hard, because she\u2019s a black woman.\u00a0 There\u2019s some talk about replacing her with Gavin Newsom, a white man with a terrible record as a governor, or with Michelle Obama, whose race and gender are convenient but who has no actual record.\u00a0 That would reek of desperation.<\/p>\n

But whatever the Democrats do about 2024, I would like to see some accountability for the election of 2020.\u00a0 A cabal of insiders colluded to control the outcome, through all sorts of underhanded tactics.\u00a0 (Tech companies censored the Hunter Biden laptop story broken by The Post, and retired intelligence officials falsely claimed it was fake, Russian disinformation).\u00a0 The press allowed Biden to campaign from his basement, covering up the truth that he was already unfit for office.<\/p>\n

Now we\u2019re in a pickle.\u00a0 Whatever happens in this election, I would like to see some consequences for the games played with our democracy in 2020.\u00a0 Elections belong to the voters, not the insiders.\u00a0 Or at least they should.<\/p>\n
