Experts have long warned that the use of armed drones or &#8220;killer robots,&#8221; particularly autonomous ones, is an\u00a0<a class=\"underline hover:text-the-byte hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/the-byte\/san-francisco-cops-allowed-use-robots-kill-people\">ethical minefield<\/a>\u00a0that should be\u00a0<a class=\"underline hover:text-the-byte hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/the-byte\/russia-killer-robots-international-laws\">internationally banned<\/a>\u00a0from the battlefield.<\/p>\n<p>But that hasn&#8217;t stopped\u00a0<a class=\"underline hover:text-the-byte hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/the-byte\/robot-battle-tank-blowing-up-cars\">military forces<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a class=\"underline hover:text-the-byte hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/the-byte\/san-francisco-cops-allowed-use-robots-kill-people\">even local enforcement<\/a>\u00a0in the US from investing in the tech while arguing that their use could\u00a0<a class=\"underline hover:text-the-byte hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/the-byte\/robot-dog-shot-three-times\">save human lives<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"font-k text-4 font-black lg:border-b border-gray-900 pb-1\">Follow the Leader<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s not the first time we&#8217;ve come across quadrupedal gun-toting robots.
