Former NIH Director Admits Government Was Top Source Of Covid Misinformation<\/a><\/p>\n

Four years ago, U.S. state, local, and federal goverments pushed \u201csocial-distancing\u201d policies separating Americans six feet away from other people everywhere they went. Now former National Institute of Health (NIH) Director Francis Collins has admitted no \u201cscience or evidence\u201d ever backed these heavy-handed, comprehensive restrictions \u2014 another key proof the left\u2019s war on so-called \u201cdisinformation\u201d is so dangerous.<\/p>\n

A memo\u00a0National Review<\/a> obtained, from the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, details Collins\u2019 closed-door testimony earlier this year. It reveals that Collins had not seen evidence on March 22, 2020, to support the widely obeyed federal policy when the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) instituted six-foot social distancing rules.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you recall science or evidence that supported the six-foot distance?\u201d Collins was asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not,\u201d Collins said. \u201cI did not see evidence, but I\u2019m not sure I would have been shown evidence at that point.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHave you seen any evidence since then supporting six feet?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo,\u201d Collins responded.<\/p>\n

So Collins admits the federal government lacked any scientific basis for this massive social policy it pushed on Americans, including by colluding with Big Tech to shut down public debate about Covid-19 responses. Such debate could have revealed that many Covid policies weren\u2019t backed by good research. Instead, numerous federal officials pressed Google, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to shut down skepticism and contrary information it falsely labeled \u201cmisinformation\u201d and \u201cdisinformation,\u201d including articles from The Federalist.<\/p>\n

This censorship effort effectively secured an information monopoly for federal agencies, including the CDC and NIH, to spread false information. As the lawsuit\u00a0Murthy v. Missouri\u00a0<\/em>and other investigations later revealed, these government officials then used their information monopoly gained through accusing others of \u201cmisinformation\u201d to spread actual misinformation, including that \u201csocial distancing\u201d was scientifically proven necessary to \u201csave lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

What The \u2018Experts\u2019 Said<\/h2>\n

Numerous so-called \u201cexperts\u201d publicly regurgitated false government talking points about the virus, including the imperative \u201cneed\u201d for social distancing. In fact, this government-pushed false information dominated public discussions for years.<\/p>\n

Dr. Peter Hotez\u00a0said on<\/a>\u00a0MSNBC that he tried to get people \u201cto understand social distancing and wearing masks\u201d but he could \u201cnot overcome that massive disinformation campaign\u201d coming from the Trump White House that \u201cdownplayed it and said it was a hoax or attributed deaths to other causes\u2026 or discrediting masks.\u201d<\/p>\n
