The Democrat\u2019s radical gun control track record, especially during her tenure in California politics, however, shows she tried to ban the type of firearm she claims to own.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat kind of gun do you own, and when and why\u2019d you get it?\u201d \u201c60 Minutes\u201d Correspondent Bill Whitaker asked Harris during the pair\u2019s Oct. 7 sitdown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a Glock,\u201d Harris claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to what the Harris campaign\u2019s social media posts suggest, \u201cGlock,\u201d is not a type of firearm, but the name of a popular handgun manufacturing company. Not only should the \u201cg\u201d in Glock be capitalized to reflect it is a proper noun, but Harris should have elaborated further on what specific type of Glock she claims to own by naming the model and caliber.<\/p>\n<p>She did not, and Whitaker put himself in the camp of corporate media mouthpieces\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/08\/06\/triggered-political-journo-says-shooting-ar-15-for-the-first-time-felt-like-a-meteor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">who have no business<\/a>\u00a0reporting about guns because\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2015\/02\/24\/14-things-everyone-should-understand-about-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">they know nothing about them<\/a> by failing to press her further on her vague answer.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, after the VP asserted that she had the firearm \u201cfor quite some time\u201d because \u201cmy background is in law enforcement,\u201d Whitaker wondered if Harris had ever \u201cfired\u201d her weapon.<\/p>\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ed4e2fc7785791689d9798b09fec9667\" class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ed4e2fc7785791689d9798b09fec9667 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\">\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1395015193\" class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6 d-flex justify-content-center\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\">\n<p>\u201cYes, of course,\u201d Harris said through laughs. \u201cAt a shooting range. Yes, of course I have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harris\u2019 CBS sitdown may not have given Americans much more clarity on the firearm she purports to possess, but it did reveal her stunning hypocrisy on gun ownership.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rules For Thee, Not For Me<\/h2>\n<p>Harris may have spent the majority of the last decade in various condos and houses in Washington, D.C., but she and the Second Gentleman\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.architecturaldigest.com\/story\/kamala-harriss-homes-heres-where-the-vice-president-has-lived\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">still own<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-independent.com\/news\/world\/americas\/us-politics\/kamala-harris-neighbors-brentwood-home-b2603926.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">routinely visit<\/a>\u00a0their California mansion. If Harris acquired her \u201cGlock\u201d years ago, as she suggested in her \u201c60 Minutes\u201d interview, it would have had to come off of California\u2019s preapproved list of \u201csafe\u201d handguns.<\/p>\n<p>Harris\u2019 quip about having a \u201cbackground in law enforcement,\u201d however, could mean she purchased her pistol under the off-roster exemptions offered exclusively to \u201cauthorized peace officer\u201d bureaucrats, which include the district attorney and Department of Justice offices where she spent years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Every Glock pistol is equipped with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eu.glock.com\/en\/Technology\/Safe-Action-System\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">trigger, firing pin, and drop safety combination<\/a>\u00a0designed to prevent accidental firing. Yet, under California law, most Glock models are considered \u201cunsafe handguns\u201d because they do not meet the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/casetext.com\/statute\/california-codes\/california-penal-code\/part-6-control-of-deadly-weapons\/title-4-firearms\/division-10-special-rules-relating-to-particular-types-of-firearms-or-firearm-equipment\/chapter-4-handguns-and-firearm-safety\/article-4-unsafe-handgun-and-related-definitions\/section-31910-unsafe-handgun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">state\u2019s stringent safety or firing requirements.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oag.ca.gov\/firearms\/certified-handguns\/search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">handgun sale roster<\/a>\u00a0maintained by Attorney General Rob Bonta, the only Glock guns permitted for sale in the Golden Gate State come from the manufacturer\u2019s Generation 3 line, which\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/inside.safariland.com\/blog\/glock-19-gen-3-review-the-classic-glock\/#:~:text=In%201998%2C%20Glock%20released%20their,which%20weren't%20so%20beloved.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">started in 1998<\/a>\u00a0and was grandfathered into the roster.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-331102\" src=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-9.18.24%E2%80%AFAM-1024x145.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-9.18.24\u202fAM-1024x145.png 1024w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-9.18.24\u202fAM-300x42.png 300w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-9.18.24\u202fAM-768x109.png 768w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-9.18.24\u202fAM-1536x217.png 1536w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-9.18.24\u202fAM.png 1726w\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"145\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That sale roster became even more exclusive when Harris, as California attorney general, attempted to enforce experimental microstamping of firing pins as a requirement for any sellable guns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo new semiautomatic handguns entered the roster after 2013. Kamala Harris\u2019s action meant the overwhelming majority of Californians who were not exempted from the law could not purchase popular handgun models released after 2013, such as all Gen 4 &amp; 5 GLOCKs, the SIG SAUER P365, Smith &amp; Wesson M&amp;P 2.0 models, and many many more,\u201d Kostas Moros, an attorney representing the California Rifle &amp; Pistol Association, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shootingnewsweekly.com\/gun-control\/kamala-harris-should-be-asked-about-her-decade-long-ban-on-modern-handgun-sales-in-california\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recently wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/michellawyers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/2023-03-20-Order-Granting-MPI2240711.1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2023 court ruling<\/a>\u00a0and a stay from the Ninth Circuit allowed the addition of \u201cseveral\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sigsauer.com\/p320-m18-california.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new handgun models<\/a>\u201d to the roster. Yet, thanks to actions by the Democrat-controlled California legislature, Moros noted, \u201cmicrostamping will return if the current Attorney General confirms by 2028 something that Kamala Harris falsely claimed was already the case in 2013 when she implemented the handgun ban.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 28px; font-weight: 900;\">Smoking Gun<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If elected, Harris would no doubt be the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/31\/if-elected-kamala-harris-would-be-the-most-anti-gun-president-in-u-s-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">most anti-gun president in U.S. history.<\/a>\u00a0Yet, the Democrat has spent the last two months leading up to the election trying to pretend she\u2019s a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MeetThePress\/status\/1837844488414257446\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">relatable<\/a>\u00a0firearms moderate.<\/p>\n<p>Harris kicked off her coverup in September when she revealed her alleged gun ownership during her first presidential debate with former President Donald Trump<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis business about taking everyone\u2019s guns away, Tim Walz and I are both gun owners,\u201d Harris said. \u201cWe\u2019re not taking anybody\u2019s guns away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a sitdown with Oprah Winfrey less than two weeks later, Harris claimed that if \u201csomeone breaks in my house, they gettin\u2019 shot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harris appears to believe that promoting herself as a proud gun owner will make her look Second Amendment savvy. She can\u2019t, however, erase her radical hostility towards firearms.<\/p>\n<p>As VP,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/ogvp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gun control czar<\/a>\u00a0Harris backed restricting gun access for law-abiding citizens via a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/24\/kamala-harris-says-no-one-is-taking-away-guns-while-biden-and-democrats-gear-up-to-do-just-that\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">federal ban<\/a>\u00a0on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. When she ran for president for the first time in 2020, Harris pledged to use executive actions to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/08\/14\/flashback-kamala-harris-laughs-off-bidens-rejection-of-executive-orders-on-gun-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">curb AR-15 imports, mandate universal background checks, and ban semiautomatic rifles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Even before her White House tenure, Harris, as San Francisco district attorney, <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.thereload.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Document-_-The-Mercury-News-Archives.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sponsored<\/a>\u00a0a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.thereload.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/09\/November8_2005.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2005 ballot measure<\/a>\u00a0that sought to strip law-abiding Californians of their Second Amendment rights. Under the proposition, which passed but faced immense legal scrutiny and eventual death in court, the gun-owning Americans Harris is trying to win over with her personal firearm rhetoric were prohibited from buying, selling, or owning handguns.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-331088\" src=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-8.21.13%E2%80%AFAM-1024x697.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-8.21.13\u202fAM-1024x697.png 1024w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-8.21.13\u202fAM-300x204.png 300w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-8.21.13\u202fAM-768x523.png 768w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-08-at-8.21.13\u202fAM.png 1536w\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"697\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>In 2007, during her promotion of one of \u201cthe strictest anti-gun laws in the county,\u201d Harris claimed law enforcement could barge into legal gun owners\u2019 homes to ensure their compliance with gun storage safety mandates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to require responsible behaviors among everybody in the community, and just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn\u2019t mean that we\u2019re not going to walk into that home and check to see if you\u2019re being responsible and safe in the way you conduct your affairs,\u201d Harris said.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, Harris\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/07-290_amicus_district_attorneys.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">signed onto an amicus brief<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<em>D.C. v. Heller\u00a0<\/em>which argued gun-toting individuals like her don\u2019t have a right to defend themselves because \u201cthe Second Amendment applies only to federal legislation, not to legislation of the states or local governments\u201d and \u201cprovides only a militia-related right to bear arms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When the Supreme Court ruled banning handguns and mandating firearms be stored disassembled is an unconstitutional infringement on Americans\u2019 right to self-protection, Harris criticized the decision.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to gun ownership and the Second Amendment, Harris has successfully established herself as a true enemy of the people.
