Prosecutor explains.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>NORTH MYRTLE BEACH \u2014 A Longs homeowner who shot and killed an intruder this week will not face any charges because he acted in self-defense, the area&#8217;s top prosecutor said.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. Oct. 21 when 34-year-old Ryan Surujnauth entered at a home on Monaca Drive in Longs, according to a news release from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.horrycountysc.gov\/departments\/coroner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-mrf-link=\"https:\/\/www.horrycountysc.gov\/departments\/coroner\/\">Horry County Coroner&#8217;s Office<\/a>. The Post &amp; Courier has requested the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.horrycountysc.gov\/departments\/police\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-mrf-link=\"https:\/\/www.horrycountysc.gov\/departments\/police\/\">Horry County Police<\/a>\u00a0report from the case, but that hasn&#8217;t been provided yet.<\/p>\n<p>However, Solicitor Jimmy Richardson said the evidence points to self-defense.
