{"id":109184,"date":"2025-04-12T15:34:46","date_gmt":"2025-04-12T20:34:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=109184"},"modified":"2025-04-12T15:34:46","modified_gmt":"2025-04-12T20:34:46","slug":"109184","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=109184","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gadsdenmessenger.com\/gscc-police-set-to-host-advanced-womens-self-defense-class\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GSCC police set to host Advanced Women\u2019s Self-Defense Class<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Gadsden State Community College Police Department will host a free Advanced Women\u2019s Self-Defense Class on Saturday, April 19, at the Beck Conference Center on the Wallace Drive [Gadsden, Alabama] Campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This empowering and educational course is open to the public for women ages 13 and up and will run from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and resume after lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., for those wanting to attend the shooting range portion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Designed to build confidence and equip participants with valuable tools to protect themselves, the class will include hands-on training and cover the following key topics:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Situational Awareness<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Legal Insights<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Hands-on Self-Defense Techniques<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Firearm Awareness and Safety<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">An optional shooting range session will be available to participants from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for those who bring a functioning handgun and 50 rounds of ammunition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The event is made possible through the support of our exceptional instructors from various agencies and local sponsors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThis class is about more than just physical defense\u2014it\u2019s about empowering women with knowledge, confidence, and a strong sense of preparedness,\u201d said Jay Freeman, Chief of Police at Gadsden State Community College. \u201cWe want every participant to leave feeling stronger, smarter, and more capable of protecting themselves and those around them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<p class=\"p1\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GSCC police set to host Advanced Women\u2019s Self-Defense Class The Gadsden State Community College Police Department will host a free Advanced Women\u2019s Self-Defense Class on Saturday, April 19, at the Beck Conference Center on the Wallace Drive [Gadsden, Alabama] Campus.
