{"id":109316,"date":"2025-04-15T18:33:45","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T23:33:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=109316"},"modified":"2025-04-15T18:33:45","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T23:33:45","slug":"109316","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=109316","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ammoland.com\/2025\/04\/gun-rights-group-to-bondi-target-2a-violations-in-12-specific-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gun Rights Group to Bondi: Target 2A Violations in 12 Specific States<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Six days after U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ccrkba.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ag-bondi-memo-second-amendment-enforcement-task-force.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"187302de3f8ea897608eb6f6ba1c39f2\">announced creation<\/a>\u00a0of the Department of Justice \u201cSecond Amendment Task Force\u201d to protect Americans\u2019 gun rights, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms\u00a0sent a letter urging her to immediately focus the task force\u2019s attention on 12 specific states where alleged \u201cegregious violations\u201d are occurring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Those states are California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon and Washington. The common denominator in all these states is a Democrat-controlled legislature and governor\u2019s office.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ammoland.com\/2025\/04\/gun-owners-in-embattled-states-beg-for-bondis-2a-task-force-attention\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"af9a52bfa13d5ace2103e539ff8d1e1b\">reported earlier<\/a>\u00a0by Ammoland, activists energized by Bondi\u2019s announcement are calling for action in their states, many of which coincidentally happen to be on the above list.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-17\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1671218810065-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>CCRKBA is the first grassroots organization out of the gate offering specific targets for Task Force attention. Each of these states has adopted increasingly restrictive gun control laws and regulations, and not just in recent years, although they appear to have stepped up the pace since the U.S. Supreme Court\u2019s 2022 Bruen ruling.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">In his\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/ccrkba.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/CCRKBA-Bondi-Letter-final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"55746ea8135b66823bee810e49985ee1\">letter to Bondi<\/a>, dated Monday, April 14, CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb writes, \u201cAs you may know, the Citizens Committee is one of the nation\u2019s largest grassroots organizations, with affiliate organizations in most states and members and supporters in every state\u2026All of these states have adopted laws in recent years which have essentially relegated Second Amendment rights to the level of government-regulated privileges.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ccrkba.org\/2025\/04\/14\/ccrkba-to-bondi-2a-task-force\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"4c2c2d344316a26075f7ca87608576d9\">statement announcing the letter<\/a>, Gottlieb adds, \u201cThe time has come to put the anti-rights leadership in these states on notice that their crusade to destroy the individual rights protected by the Second Amendment is finished. On behalf of our members and supporters, we\u2019re hopeful Attorney General Bondi brings the full force of the Justice Department\u2019s Civil Rights Division against these Draconian gun control laws wherever they have been enacted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIn our opinion,\u201d the letter adds, \u201cspecial attention should be paid to Washington, Oregon and California, where lawmakers have been essentially working off an agenda set by the gun prohibition lobby.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CCRKBA lists \u201cimpediments\u201d including permits to purchase firearms, prohibiting firearms carry in large areas, mandatory training and testing, which CCRKBA says \u201cis tantamount to a literacy test.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/codes.findlaw.com\/or\/oregon-constitution\/or-const-art-i-sect-27\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"c469a9178b8b43366093c8d6acb3c5f5\">Oregon<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/codes.findlaw.com\/wa\/washington-constitution\/wa-const-art-1-sect-24\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"d5563eae34f993aa5477aa928fbe2289\">Washington<\/a>\u00a0have specific right-to-bear-arms tenets in their state constitutions, California does not. And, since CCRKBA is headquartered in the Evergreen State, the Bondi letter can be seen as a direct challenge to the state\u2019s anti-gun Democrat leadership, including Gov. Bob Ferguson and Attorney General Nicholas Brown.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gunresponsibility.org\/2024-endorsements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"ea88b10d6ad62d4f9990efa0dbdd5d93\">Both were endorsed<\/a>\u00a0in last fall\u2019s election by the Seattle-based and billionaire-backed Alliance for Gun Responsibility, one of the nation\u2019s best-funded gun prohibition lobbying organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, one look at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gunresponsibility.org\/2025-policy-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"67516b8a00bfc5205a5ec6f0f46c70d9\">Alliance\u2019s agenda<\/a>\u00a0for 2025 and legislation introduced by Democrats shows the \u201cparty for gun prohibition\u2019 has followed its orders almost exactly.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1681151438500-0\" data-google-query-id=\"CNajnOqX24wDFQOvpgQdlIoQRA\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/22702991301\/Ammoland\/AL_In-Content_2_0__container__\">\n<div id=\"AmmolandDFPAdParallaxerCont_138502626047\">\n<div>\n<p><strong>As it turns out, one member of Congress\u2014Colorado\u2019s firebrand Rep. Lauren Boebert\u2014is also suggesting that DOJ\u2019s Task Force take a very hard look at her state.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\"><strong>Posting on\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RepBoebert\/posts\/hello-attorney-general-pam-bondi-the-dojs-second-amendment-task-force-should-beg\/1225027882964404\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"194a56993e460c98bf2236d463d35e5e\">Facebook<\/a>\u00a0last week, Boebert wrote, \u201cThe DOJ\u2019s Second Amendment Task Force should begin their first wave of litigation against Governor (Jared) Polis and the state of Colorado for signing into law the unconstitutional SB25-003.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\"><strong>\u201cThe Second Amendment is clear: SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The three-term congresswoman adds, \u201cSB25-003 converts our constitutional rights into a privilege \u2013 one that becomes only accessible to those who can afford it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cFor many Coloradans,\u201d she said, \u201cespecially low-income citizens who have been terrorized by Tren de Aragua, SB25-003 creates a barrier that puts firearm ownership out of reach and renders them defenseless.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI am urging the Department of Justice to immediately consider targeting SB25-003.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/san.com\/cc\/colorado-passes-one-of-the-nations-most-restrictive-gun-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"9126aff0017b5237b1f0d223f40c06d8\">Straight Arrow News<\/a>, Gov. Polis has signed \u201cone of the nation\u2019s most restrictive gun regulation bills into law.\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/leg.colorado.gov\/bills\/sb25-003\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uri=\"b37f0b95f78902c361fde4b0fc02bcfc\">Senate Bill 3<\/a>\u00a0is a gun ban, but only on the future manufacture, sale and purchase of \u201ccertain semiautomatic firearms\u201d which use detachable magazines.
