{"id":112478,"date":"2025-10-03T12:32:55","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T17:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=112478"},"modified":"2025-10-03T12:32:55","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T17:32:55","slug":"112478","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=112478","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shootingnewsweekly.com\/atf\/why-is-bondis-doj-defending-the-biden-cornyn-gun-back-door-registration-scheme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Why is Bondi\u2019s DOJ Defending the Biden-Cornyn Gun Back Door Registration Scheme?<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">\n<p>In a stunning betrayal of gun owners, Attorney General Pam Bondi recently ordered the Department of Justice to continue defending Joe Biden\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shootingnewsweekly.com\/atf\/ags-sue-atf-over-atfs-expansive-new-in-the-business-rule-regulating-private-gun-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cEngaged in the Business\u201d rule<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 a backdoor gun registration scheme.<\/p>\n<p>And now there\u2019s a new twist: a federal judge in the Northern District of Alabama\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocketcitynow.com\/article\/news\/state\/judge-blocks-parts-of-atf-rule-siding-with-alabama-collectors-and-nra\/525-b4aacb2e-6531-48e3-b645-63ba39c08053\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">just\u00a0ruled<\/a>\u00a0that the ATF overstepped its authority with major parts of this rule, and issued a permanent injunction protecting the named plaintiffs and their members from enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this rebuke, though, Bondi\u2019s DOJ is pressing forward with defending the rule \u2014 even after President Trump ordered a full review of Biden\u2019s gun control agenda earlier this year. This is nothing less than a deliberate attempt to kneecap Trump\u2019s pro-gun agenda.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">\n<h5><b>What the Court Did<\/b><\/h5>\n<p>The court declared multiple provisions of the ATF\u2019s rule unlawful, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The claim that there\u2019s no minimum number of guns or sales required to be \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.atf.gov\/firearms\/final-rule-definition-engaged-business-dealer-firearms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in the business<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The presumption of \u201cprofit intent\u201d even when no profit is shown.<\/li>\n<li>The attack on the \u201cpersonal collection\u201d safe harbor, excluding firearms kept for self-defense.<\/li>\n<li>Presumptions that reselling or advertising firearms automatically makes someone a dealer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These provisions have now been permanently blocked against enforcement for the named plaintiffs. But here\u2019s the catch: the rest of the country is still exposed. Unless the rule is struck down entirely, millions of gun owners remain at risk of being treated like criminals for private sales.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">\n<h5><b>Cornyn\u2019s BSCA Opened the Door for This<\/b><\/h5>\n<p>Make no mistake: this entire scheme is the spawn of John Cornyn\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shootingnewsweekly.com\/gun-control\/is-john-cornyn-cognitively-impaired-or-is-he-just-lying-about-his-role-in-passing-bidens-gun-control-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bipartisan Safer Communities Act<\/a>, drafted with anti-gun Democrat Chris Murphy. Cornyn handed Biden the legislative keys to create a backdoor registry \u2014 and Bondi is keeping it alive.<\/p>\n<p>Pam Bondi has a long history of selling out gun owners. She supported red flag laws in Florida, refused to stop anti-gun ordinances, and repeatedly sided with the political elite over grassroots conservatives. Now, as Attorney General, she\u2019s siding with Biden over Trump, fighting in court to preserve Biden\u2019s gun control legacy.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump must get control of his own AG and force her to follow his pro-gun agenda.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">\n<h5><b>The Fight in the Courts<\/b><\/h5>\n<p>There is hope, however. In the Fifth Circuit, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Gun Owners of America are suing to stop this same rule. Texas Gun Rights and the National Association for Gun Rights filed a hard-hitting amicus brief in support.<\/p>\n<p>A preliminary injunction is currently protecting gun owners in Texas and several other states.
