{"id":115267,"date":"2026-02-23T15:27:37","date_gmt":"2026-02-23T21:27:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=115267"},"modified":"2026-02-23T16:36:27","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T22:36:27","slug":"115267","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=115267","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2nd-amendment\/2026\/02\/23\/minnesota-dems-push-bill-allowing-law-enforcement-enter-homes-check-gun-storage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota Dems Push Bill Allowing Law Enforcement to Enter Homes to Check Gun Storage<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Minnesota Democrats are pushing to allow law enforcement to enter homes to check compliance with semiautomatic gun storage requirements.<\/p>\n<p>On February 20, 2026, Breitbart News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2nd-amendment\/2026\/02\/20\/minnesota-dems-push-prohibition-against-owning-or-transferring-ar-15s-and-other-rifles\/\">reported<\/a>\u00a0that Democrats in the Minnesota House were pushing a\u00a0ban on the ownership or transfer of AR-15s and numerous other semiautomatic rifles.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation, HF 3433, bans the mere possession of a Colt AR-15 and at least 25 other specific semiautomatic rifles and pistols. It then goes beyond those specific guns to ban \u201cany firearm that is another model made by the same manufacturer as one of the firearms listed\u2026and has the same action design as one of the listed firearms, and is a redesigned, renamed, or renumbered version of one of the firearms listed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If passed and signed into law,\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/bills\/94\/2026\/0\/HF\/3433\/versions\/latest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">HF 3433 would take effect<\/a> January 1, 2027. It contains a grandfather clause allowing the current owner of what will be a prohibited firearm to obtain a \u201ccertificate of ownership\u201d from law enforcement in order to keep the gun.<\/p>\n<p>However, anyone keeping a prohibited gun must \u201csafely and securely store the device pursuant to the regulations adopted by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.\u201d And to be sure the gun is stored as mandated, owners of prohibited guns must \u201cagree to allow the appropriate law enforcement agency to inspect the storage of the device to ensure compliance[.]\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minnesota Dems Push Bill Allowing Law Enforcement to Enter Homes to Check Gun Storage Minnesota Democrats are pushing to allow law enforcement to enter homes to check compliance with semiautomatic gun storage requirements.
