{"id":118679,"date":"2026-09-10T18:10:32","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T23:10:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=118679"},"modified":"2026-09-10T18:10:32","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T23:10:32","slug":"118679","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=118679","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-independent.com\/news\/world\/americas\/crime\/st-louis-eviction-wheelchair-shooting-b3047524.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wheelchair-bound man is evicted from his apartment for shooting at robber<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0St. Louis\u00a0resident who uses a wheelchair\u00a0faces immediate eviction\u00a0following a\u00a0lobby shooting\u00a0that police classified as an act of self-defense against an armed intruder.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Torrey Holliday received notice that he was being kicked out of public housing in St. Louis after shooting at the would-be robber.<\/p>\n<p>The St. Louis Housing Authority terminated the lease under its Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy, which permits the agency to end the agreement for conduct threatening resident or staff safety. While police and prosecutors treat Torrey Holliday as a robbery victim, who acted in self-defense, housing management cited front lobby surveillance footage showing him firing his gun and putting others at risk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI woke up the next morning, they not even trying to ask me, \u2018Am I alright? What happened? Is it OK?\u2019 Nothing,\u201d Holliday told<a href=\"https:\/\/fox2now.com\/news\/fox-files\/wheelchair-bound-man-evicted-after-shooting-would-be-robber\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u00a0<em>FOX 2<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAll they hit me with was a big (expletive) package saying, \u2018You got to be out.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As reported by the St. Louis Housing Authority, federal privacy regulations limit public discussion of individual tenancies, but administrative lease enforcement remains separate from criminal investigations.<\/p>\n<p>Bullet holes remain visible in the apartment lobby where Holliday retreated from the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood thing I did have my weapon on me or else I wouldn\u2019t be here to talk about none of this,\u201d Torrey Holliday told\u00a0<em>FOX 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that management enforcement ignored the lack of building security.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had the gun because the building, they not protecting (us),\u201d he said. \u201cThey don\u2019t got the guards downstairs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also maintained that while staff knew he carried a firearm, lobby signage only prohibited smoking and loitering.<\/p>\n<p>Neighbors argued that the enforcement ignored situational context.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe did break the gun policy,\u201d Marvin McGee told the local station. \u201cBut still, look at his condition. Somebody messed with him. He didn\u2019t mess with nobody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Keisha Holliday, his mother, said that her son faced punishment for protecting himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can see him kind of reeling away from the guy, you understand what I\u2019m saying?\u201d Keisha Holliday told\u00a0<em>FOX 2<\/em>. \u201cBut he just kept coming at him.
