Burglar shot trying to break into Atlantic County [NJ] home dies from injuries<\/a><\/p>\n

A man shot while allegedly committing a burglary in Mullica Township later died of his injuries, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Paul Destefano, 30, of Mullica Township broke into a home on the 3000 block of Moores Avenue early Monday morning and was shot by a \u201ccivilian.” He was taken to\u00a0Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City\u00a0<\/a>after someone called 911 to report the incident around 3 a.m., according to a statement from the Atlantic County Prosecutor\u2019s Office<\/p>\n

Destefano died at the hospital on Wednesday and the cause and manner of his death were still pending the results of an autopsy that was expected to be completed later this week, the office said.<\/p>\n
