Justice Protects Second Amendment<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Governor Jim Justice\u2019s recent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus-wvgovstatus-cdn.azureedge.net\/STAY_AT_HOME_ORDER.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Executive Order No. 9-20<\/a>\u00a0designates \u201cfirearm and ammunition suppliers and retailers\u201d under \u201cEssential Businesses and Operations,\u201d exempting them from being shut down during this state of emergency. In doing so, Gov. Justice\u00a0reaffirms that the Second Amendment is the law of the land\u00a0while\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nraila.org\/articles\/20200322\/new-jersey-stops-firearms-transfers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">other jurisdictions<\/a>\u00a0are using the pandemic as an excuse to strip Americans of their fundamental right of self-defense.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Gov. Justice signed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wvlegislature.gov\/Bill_Status\/bills_history.cfm?INPUT=4955&amp;year=2020&amp;sessiontype=RS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">House Bill 4955<\/a>\u00a0into law today. <strong>It reduces the current $75 fee for a LCDW to $25 and\u00a0eliminates the fee for honorably discharged military veterans.<\/strong> West Virginia already\u00a0allows\u00a0law-abiding adults to carry a handgun to defend themselves\u00a0without first having to pay fees or obtain government permission, but that ends at the state line. Many West Virginians still choose to get a LCDW in order to\u00a0exercise their right to carry in other states that recognize West Virginia\u2019s permit. This fee reduction helps ensure that West Virginians of any financial means are able to defend themselves when traveling.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>West Virginia: Gov.
