CPR was administered by both fellow sailors and a medical team before the transfer to ICU.<\/p>\n<p>He had tested positive for the virus on March 30, and was removed from the ship after the positive diagnosis. He was placed in quarantine on Naval Base Guam with four other sailors from the ship where he received twice-daily medical checks.<\/p>\n<p>At least 655 sailors aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/americanmilitarynews.com\/2020\/04\/reports-655-sailors-on-roosevelt-aircraft-carrier-now-have-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">have now tested positive for coronavirus<\/a>\u00a0as of new reports on Thursday. Six of those sailors are hospitalized, and one is in the ICU.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with the Today Show on Thursday, Defense Secretary Mark Esper\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/defense-chief-indicates-it-s-possible-navy-captain-fired-after-n1185091\">said<\/a>\u00a0that approximately 350 of Roosevelt\u2019s coronavirus cases are asymptomatic, which \u201chas revealed a new dynamic of this virus.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fair\u00a0Winds and Following\u00a0Seas,\u00a0Chief.
