{"id":56442,"date":"2020-06-29T01:14:40","date_gmt":"2020-06-29T06:14:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=56442"},"modified":"2020-06-29T01:14:40","modified_gmt":"2020-06-29T06:14:40","slug":"56442","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=56442","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/oklahoma-authorities-charge-alleged-rioters-with-terrorism-this-is-not-seattle?%3Futm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=dwtwitter\">Oklahoma Authorities Charge Alleged Rioters With Terrorism: \u2018This Is Not\u00a0Seattle.\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Authorities in Oklahoma announced late last week that they were charging alleged rioters with terrorism and assault, saying that they would not put up with \u201cthis lawlessness here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater reportedly made the decision to get tough on the rioters in an effort to curb any future potential riots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not Seattle,\u201d Prater said Friday. \u201cWe\u2019re not putting up with this lawlessness here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The charges, which appear to be for alleged crimes that were committed a couple of weeks ago, also included \u201cfive defendants identified as involved in the painting of murals in downtown Oklahoma City this week,\u201d The Oklahoman reported. \u201cThey are accused in an incitement to riot charge of interfering with a police sergeant who was trying to take a homicide witness for an interview at police headquarters Tuesday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ACLU criticized the use of the \u201charshest possible charges\u201d against the alleged rioters.<\/p>\n<p>Prater defended the charges on Sunday, saying, \u201cWhen you act like a terrorist, you will be treated like a terrorist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe terrorism charges involved the burning of an Oklahoma County sheriff\u2019s van and the damage done to an Oklahoma City bail bonds business,\u201d The Oklahoman reported separately. \u201cOne defendant, Isael Antonio Ortiz, 21, of Welch, is charged in both incidents. He was jailed Saturday morning. If convicted, he could be sentenced to life in prison.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeveral people were carrying flags that were identified as belonging to the following groups: Antifa, Soviet Union, American Indian Movement, Anarcho-Communism (solid red) and the original Oklahoma flag \u2026 currently adopted by Oklahoma Socialists,\u201d police reported, according to The Oklahoman. \u201cSeveral known supporters of anti-establishment organizations were present in the crowd.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Attorney General William Barr announced late last week that he had created a task force to go after the anti-government extremists that had been causing a lot of the problems across the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am today directing the creation of a task force devoted to countering violent anti-government extremists,\u201d Barr wrote in a memo. \u201cThe task force will be co-headed by Craig Carpenito, U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, and Eric Nealy Cox, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas. The task force will include members of United States Attorney\u2019s Offices, the FBI, and other relevant components across the Nation.
