They\u2019re ramming through a radical agenda to disarm law-abiding Americans when they\u2019re buying firearms in record numbers over concerns of personal safety. This is a platform that is far beyond being out of step with America. It\u2019s tripping over itself.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/dnc-platform-goal-end-the-firearm-industry\/\">DNC PLATFORM GOAL: END THE FIREARM INDUSTRY<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"author\">By Larry Keane<\/p>\n<p>Presumed Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden, called the firearm industry \u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/called-industry-enemy\/\">the enemy<\/a><\/strong>\u201d from the debate stage one year ago. Now, the rest of the party plans to follow him in that announcement with the Democratic Platform that lays out an agenda to dismantle the firearm and ammunition industry and destroy Second Amendment rights in America.<\/p>\n<p>The DNC posted the party\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=00000173-782a-d3de-ab7b-783b9b650000\"><strong>draft platform<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0online, which will be formally adopted during the Milwaukee convention starting Aug. 17. Just two paragraphs of the 80-page document are dedicated to firearms, but not much space is needed when the party is in lockstep. The plan includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Criminalizing private firearm transfers<\/li>\n<li>Disrupting interstate commerce by criminalizing online firearm and ammunition sales<\/li>\n<li>Instituting endless \u201cdelay\u201d windows for background checks<\/li>\n<li>Banning the manufacture and sale of modern sporting rifles<\/li>\n<li>Banning the manufacture and sale of standard magazines<\/li>\n<li>Enacting licensing schemes to exercise Second Amendment rights<\/li>\n<li>Enacting ex parte \u201cred flag\u201d laws to seize guns without legal recourse<\/li>\n<li>Mandating home storage requirements under penalty of law<\/li>\n<li>Repealing the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act to subject the industry to frivolous lawsuits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>In Lockstep<\/h4>\n<p>Former Vice President Biden already told America exactly how he feels when it comes to law-abiding citizens demanding their civil rights. Union autoworker Jerry Wayne questioned Biden on his commitment to safeguarding gun rights, only to be the target of Biden\u2019s temper when he jabbed a finger in his face,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.insidesources.com\/biden-says-gun-rights-supporter-is-full-of-sht-so-what-is-bidens-gun-policy\/\">telling Wayne<\/a><\/strong>, \u201cnot to be such a horse\u2019s ass,\u201d and telling him he\u2019s \u201cfull of sh*t.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Biden has\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/dna-matches-for-guns-oh-joe-there-you-go-again\/\">called<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for \u201cDNA-enabled smart guns,\u201d despite no such technology existing and the fabled regular so-called \u201csmart gun\u201d was an abject failure. He told voters he would appoint former U.S. Rep. Robert Francis \u201cBeto\u201d O\u2019Rourke (D-Texas) as his gun control sheriff, after O\u2019Rourke said \u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7vEnTjs2RV0\">Hell, yes\u2026<\/a><\/strong>\u201d to forcibly confiscating modern sporting rifles. Biden answered CNN\u2019s Anderson Cooper when he asked if his federal buyback plan would mean the government would confiscate firearms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBingo,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/election-2020\/joe-biden-pushes-assault-weapons-ban-buyback-when-asked-about-come-for-your-guns-talking-point-bingo\/\"><strong>Biden said<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cYou\u2019re right, if you have an assault weapon. The fact of the matter is they should be illegal, period.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>Beyond Biden<\/h4>\n<p>This isn\u2019t just Biden pushing this radical rights-grabbing agenda. This is the party platform. These are the stated goals. This is truly an agenda. It ignores facts.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, the draft DNC platform wants to close the so-called \u201cCharleston Loophole.\u201d They would do this by giving no timeframe by which the FBI\u2019s National Instant Criminal Background Check System would be required to complete a check to a gun sale. Right now,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www3.nssf.org\/share\/factsheets\/PDF\/NICSDelays.pdf\">91 percent<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of all background checks are completed instantly. Just nine percent are \u201cdelayed.\u201d Of those, 88 percent are finalized within three working days and a full 94 percent are completed with 10 days. Congressional gun control advocates would rather shut down background checks and deny sales outright, if they could. We know because instead of following the law, U.S. Senators\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/columnists\/lawrencekeane\/2020\/04\/07\/answer-to-nics-strain-more-resources-not-more-restrictions-n2566533\">tried<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to shut it down during the busiest firearm-buying period on record.<\/p>\n<p>The party\u2019s objective to ban the manufacture and sale of the most-popular selling centerfire rifle isn\u2019t new, but is getting renewed emphasis. President Bill Clinton signed the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and even the Centers for Disease Control\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www3.nssf.org\/share\/factsheets\/PDF\/AssaultWeapons.pdf\">concluded<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0it had no meaningful impact on crime reduction. NSSF recently\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/nssf-likely-voter-survey-shows-firearm-free-choice-a-key-election-issue\/\">surveyed likely voters<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in 18 swing states and more than half responded they wouldn\u2019t support a ban on modern sporting rifles and want politicians to respect individual rights and enforce laws presently on the books.<\/p>\n<h4>Radical Agenda<\/h4>\n<p>The DNC is listening to their radical base and not the rest of America. That\u2019s why they continue to demonize the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which denies activist politicians and lawyers from bringing frivolous lawsuits against the industry for the consequences of criminal activity by individuals. They would destroy an industry through litigation that would be akin to taking Ford to court for the crimes of drunk driving.<\/p>\n<p>The platform wasn\u2019t the product of Biden\u2019s thinking, but those\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/theunionjournal.com\/biden-will-be-most-far-left-president-in-modern-history\/\">propping<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0him up.
