The Umbrella Man can, at least according to the search warrant affidavit filed by Minneapolis police officer Erika Christensen last week.<\/p>\n<p>The Star Tribune\u2019s Libor Jany told me he came across Christensen\u2019s affidavit in a routine review of new court filings. He reported on the allegations of Christensen\u2019s affidavit in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/police-umbrella-man-was-a-white-supremacist-trying-to-incite-floyd-rioting\/571932272\/\">\u201cMinneapolis police say \u2018Umbrella Man\u2019 was a white supremacist trying to incite George Floyd rioting.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0The story has made waves around the world.<\/p>\n<p>According to Officer Christensen, Umbrella Man is a white supremacist who set off the week of riots and arson throughout the Twin Cities by knocking out the windows at AutoZone on Lake Street at Minnehaha Avenue in south Minneapolis on May 27. Did Umbrella Man also burn the AutoZone down? I can\u2019t tell from Libor\u2019s story, but it was in fact torched.<\/p>\n<p>* * * * * * * *<\/p>\n<p>Officer Christensen\u2019s affidavit superimposes a mythical narrative over the events as we saw them unfold. Cockburn adds, by the way, that it took him \u201cjust a single minute on Google to discover rioting and destruction\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wcco\/status\/1265462350125113348?lang=en\">from May 26<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 the day before Umbrella Man supposedly kicked everything off.\u201d Spectator USA has made Cockburn\u2019s column freely accessible at our request.<\/p>\n<p>Officer Christensen, perhaps coincidentally, is \u201ca frequent letter-writer to the Star Tribune\u201d and the Minneapolis police department\u2019s \u201crare \u2018out\u2019 liberal,\u201d as she described herself in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/i-m-a-cop-and-i-ve-met-the-next-mass-shooter\/528625932\/\">this Star Tribune column<\/a>\u00a0last year.
