Man shoots teen during attempted home invasion in Logan<\/a><\/p>\n

LOGAN\u00a0 neighborhood Philadelphia – Authorities are investigating after a man opened fire on a teenager and another man during an attempted home invasion in Logan early Friday morning.<\/p>\n

Police were responding to the victim’s home when officers say they were flagged down by a wounded 17-year-old male near the intersection of 11th Street and Chew Avenue.<\/p>\n

The teen told police that he was shot in the wrist and buttocks while walking down the street. Police found no evidence of a shooting where the teen claimed to have been shot. He was transported to a nearby hospital and his condition is unknown.<\/p>\n

Through an investigation, police say the teenager and another man attempted to kick in the door of a 31-year-old man’s house. The homeowner opened fire on the suspects, striking the 17-year-old.<\/p>\n

Police say the teen was arrested for his part in the attempted home invasion. Authorities are still searching for the\u00a0teens suspected accomplice.<\/p>\n

Robber Shot By Minneapolis Smoke Shop Employee<\/a><\/p>\n

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) \u2014 A man may have gotten more than he bargained for after trying to rob a smoke shop Saturday night in south Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

Fouad Elharfaoui owns USA Smoke Shop near Hiawatha Avenue and 46th Street. He says the robbery happened just before closing.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo guys walked in with a gun and tried to rob [my employee], but he has a concealed weapon and he pulled it out and tried to defend himself,\u201d Elharfaoui said. \u201cThe guys took off, he chased them.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Elharfaoui, his employee fired at the robbers\u2019 car as they drove away, and hit the man in the passenger seat. Minutes later, a barely-conscious man stumbled into the Super USA convenience store at 38th Street and Minnehaha Avenue, a little more than a mile from USA Smoke Shop. Mohamed Kassab was working at Super USA that evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe called the police for him to get help, you know. He\u2019s bleeding. It\u2019s very crazy, scary, you know?\u201d Kassab said.<\/p>\n

Police say the man was likely shot, and that he also matched the description of a suspect in a robbery a few minutes earlier. He was treated at a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Elharfaoui feels his employee did the right thing. The robbers only got away with some cigarette cartons.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t worried at all about the store or the products or the money,\u201d Elharfaoui said. \u201cI was worried about my friend, you know. But when I heard he\u2019s safe, that gave me a lot of relief, you know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elharfaoui says his store\u2019s in a great neighborhood, but it was looted during the riots, and now he must cope with this situation.<\/p>\n

He also says he disagrees with the Minneapolis City Council\u2019s plan to dismantle the city\u2019s police department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
