Every Republican representative, as well as Democratic Rep. Wes Breckenridge,\u00a0<a class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.legis.iowa.gov\/legislation\/findLegislation\/floorVotes?action=result&amp;calendarItemID=13381&amp;useFile=true&amp;chamberID=H\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\"|inline|intext|n\/a\">supported the bill<\/a>, while all other Democrats were opposed.\u00a0<a class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.legis.iowa.gov\/legislation\/BillBook?ba=SF%20535&amp;ga=89\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\"|inline|intext|n\/a\">Similar legislation<\/a> has passed through committee in the Iowa Senate but has not received a floor vote&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nraila.org\/articles\/20210317\/south-carolina-open-carry-bill-passes-critical-vote\">South Carolina: Open Carry Bill Passes Critical Vote<\/a><\/p>\n<p>[March 17th], the House voted 82-33 to advance House Bill 3094 after second reading. HB 3094 still faces a third reading before the House can vote to pass it. <strong>The progress so far has been made possible by Rep. Bobby Cox showing his strong leadership and unwavering commitment to the Second Amendment by guiding this bill.<\/strong>\u00a0Substantial amendments were unnecessary, as a standalone\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nraila.org\/articles\/20210316\/south-carolina-constitutional-carry-advances-from-house-judiciary-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">constitutional carry bill<\/a>\u00a0is also working its way through the legislative process and, in a press conference today, pro-gun lawmakers affirmed their commitment to pass it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scstatehouse.gov\/billsearch.php?billnumbers=3094&amp;session=124&amp;summary=B\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House Bill 3094<\/a>\u00a0allows citizens who hold a concealed weapons permit,\u00a0to carry a handgun in the manner they choose. Currently, South Carolina is one of just five states that does\u00a0not explicitly allow open carry,\u00a0among them Illinois, New York, and California. Self-defense situations are difficult to predict and everyone has different circumstances.
