{"id":68987,"date":"2021-06-14T22:47:29","date_gmt":"2021-06-15T03:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=68987"},"modified":"2021-06-14T22:47:29","modified_gmt":"2021-06-15T03:47:29","slug":"68987","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=68987","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedenverchannel.com\/news\/local-news\/man-shot-and-killed-inside-douglas-county-home-appears-to-be-self-defense-sheriffs-office-says\">Man shot and killed inside Douglas County home appears to be self-defense, sheriff\u2019s office says<\/a><\/p>\n<p>DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. \u2014 Authorities said a man shot and killed inside a Douglas County home Saturday evening appears to be an incident of self-defense.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, the Douglas County Coroner officially identified the deceased as Stan Collins, 59, of Littleton.<\/p>\n<p>The Douglas County Sheriff\u2019s Office said Collins entered a home in the 9000 block of Fraser River Street in the Sterling Ranch subdivision around 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>A 911 caller reported that Collins had entered the residence with a gun. Collins was fatally shot by a person who lives at the address as deputies were en route to the home, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p>Collins did not live at the address but was known to the residents of the house, according to the Douglas County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The resident involved in the shooting has not been identified. The sheriff\u2019s office said the shooting remains an open investigation.
