Appears that the California court system with its lax parole\/probation policy is the proximate cause of the crime increase. Of course, another way to look at it is that the courts are thinking that a significant number of homeowners will likely solve the criminal problem the old fashioned way.<\/p>\n

California homeowner shoots, kills armed intruder after man kicks down door<\/a><\/p>\n

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KTXL<\/a>) \u2013 A Northern California homeowner fatally shot an armed man \u2013 who was on parole for another home invasion<\/strong> \u2013 after he kicked down the homeowner\u2019s door Tuesday morning, police say.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, a piece of plywood covering the front door of the home on Vintage Valley Drive in Fairfield is the only sign that something happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m kind of blown away,\u201d neighbor\u00a0Nathan Biggs said. \u201cI\u2019ve lived here all my life, 18 years. Probably the most eventful thing that\u2019s happened in this neighborhood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police said the\u00a0couple in the home\u00a0were having breakfast when they saw an unknown man through their Ring camera who knocked on their front door.<\/p>\n

The homeowners didn\u2019t answer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect did ultimately kick the door down, kicked it off the hinges and attempted to make entry into the house,\u201d said Fairfield Police Department\u2019s Lt. Jausiah Jacobsen. \u201cThe homeowner defended themselves, fired rounds. The suspect ended up fleeing and [the homeowner] obviously called us, asked for us to come and help him.\u201d<\/p>\n
