Paul Parizek, the man had forced entry into an apartment in the 2500 block of Lincoln Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. Friday armed with a handgun.<\/p>\n<p>Parizek said the man assaulted and threatened residents inside the apartment before being shot by one of the residents.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the intruder\u2019s injuries were not life-threatening.<\/p>\n<p>Des Moines police detectives continue to investigate the case.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Des Moines apartment intruder shot by victim in self-defense DES MOINES, Iowa \u2014Authorities in Des Moines are investigating after a home intruder was shot by one of their victims in self-defense.
