Multiple times on episodes of Cam and Company, Cam stated we should be taking Biden at his word on what he wishes to do. From his wish list:

Regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act. Currently, the National Firearms Act requires individuals possessing machine-guns, silencers, and short-barreled rifles to undergo a background check and register those weapons with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Due to these requirements, such weapons are rarely used in crimes. As president, Biden will pursue legislation to regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.

Let’s first note the laziness and candor in Biden’s plan by linking to a fact sheet on Giffords Law Center’s webpage. Biden is clearly in bed with this group, why else would his website link to them? I don’t think it would have been too hard for the team to come up with a similar document to link to or come up with their own ideas on the subject, but I digress.

Then there is the progressive golden boy, former ATF agent, David Chipman, who’s falling from grace, but still an entity to deal with, and his views. As reported on The Hill:

David Chipman, a retired Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agent, on Monday said AR-15 rifles should be regulated like machine guns.

“What I support is treating them just like machine guns,” Chipman, who is now a senior policy adviser at Giffords: Courage to Fight Gun Violence, told Hill.TV’s Buck Sexton and Krystal Ball on “Rising.”

“To me, if you want to have a weapon of war, the same gun that was issued to me as a member of [the] ATF SWAT team, it makes sense that you would have to pass a background check, the gun would have to be in your name, and there would be a picture and fingerprints on file,” he continued.

Anyone paying attention? Just to connect the dots, we all know about Chipman’s involvement with Giffords. Biden linking to Giffords? Chipman working for Giffords? Swampy.

I hate to put the cart before the horse here, but reading what I read, I think it’s important to share. This is so fresh that the bill is not even listed with the Library of Congress yet, and there are no press releases from the sponsor or noted co-sponsors. The following bill introduction came across my desk today: “H.R. 4953: To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act any semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine”. The only record of this bill right now is on GovTrack and can be viewed HERE.

Why there were no press releases from Theodore “Ted” Deutch, Representative for Florida’s 22nd congressional district and a Democrat, escapes me. But I cannot find anything on the bill at this time. Here are the co-sponsors: Carson, André [D-IN7], Cooper, Jim [D-TN5], DeSaulnier, Mark [D-CA11], Jones, Mondaire [D-NY17], Lowenthal, Alan [D-CA47], Raskin, Jamie [D-MD8], Wasserman Schultz, Debbie [D-FL23], and Williams, Nikema [D-GA5]. Nothing on any of those congresscritters’ websites in the way of media releases either. That’s not to say there won’t be press releases going out, there just are none as of this writing. The bill was introduced on August 6, 2021.

The biggest issue with there being no press release is there’s also no proposed bill text. Some of the powers that be will include proposed bill texts in their announcements of their next great achievement. I don’t like to report on things unless I have something solid to stand on, but in this instance I think the subject is important enough to bring up and to make everyone aware of it (incoming fire!). I feel the title of the bill speaks for itself:

To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act any semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine.

There’s not much reading between the lines there. The title says ANY semiautomatic rifle that can accept a detachable magazine. Potentially the bill text does allow for exemptions for things like .22 rifles, as having all the youth organizations, scouting groups, 4H, etc. that might be using semiautomatic rifles in teaching marksmanship have to register their newly minted “assault weapons” with the National Firearms Act. would be crazy. But, we’ve seen crazier stuff that the progressive anti-freedom crowd has thrown at us.

A side bar is maybe there’s been no press releases because “they” don’t want the unwashed masses to have this on their radar. Well, if that’s the case, you’ve failed. I’m watching what you’re doing congresscritters!

I certainly apologize that there is not more to report, however, I’ll be watching this bill closely, as I have been watching many of the pieces of proposed legislation on the federal level and in some states. For now, raise awareness, and let your friends, family, and fellow gun owners know that this is coming down the line. It’s doubtful this will gain the necessary momentum to go anywhere, however we do need to watch and keep the anti-freedom caucus in check. The dots have been connected. Collusion anyone? Start contacting your representatives now, shock them that you know before they do!

Bill Aims To Add ALL Semi-Automatic Rifles With Detachable Magazines To NFA Back when candidate Joe Biden was running for president, he had laid out several different things he wanted to do in the way of curbing so-called “gun violence”.
