He was pulling 7 people one-by-one from a tank that caught on fire after it hit an IED.<\/p>\n<p>Master Sgt. Earl Plumlee <strong><em>is<\/em><\/strong> a Green Beret who fended off multiple attackers who had blown a hole in his base\u2019s perimeter in Afghanistan in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Celiz, an Army Ranger, was killed in 2018 while providing security for a medical evacuation flight also in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>The awards will represent the 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 20<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Medals of Honor for actions in Afghanistan and the 7<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0for the Iraqi theatre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three soldiers to be awarded Medals of Honor Sgt. 1st Class Alwyn Cashe died from burns he sustained in Iraq in 2005.
