Man killed during robbery attempt at area restaurant<\/a><\/p>\n Update 4 p.m.:<\/strong>\u00a0The coroner has identified the man who was killed as Rickey Cox Jr., 33, of Manchester.<\/p>\n Reported earlier:<\/strong><\/p>\n An unidentified man died Tuesday evening as a result of a\u00a0shooting at the Asian Best Chinese and Thai Cuisine Restaurant at 15 N. Penn St. in York, according to\u00a0the York County Coroner’s Office.<\/p>\n A news release from the York City Police Department said the 34-year-old man was shot by the restaurant’s owner while attempting to rob a store clerk. It is the first homicide of 2022\u00a0in the city and county.<\/p>\n The man immediately died at the scene at about 6:50 p.m. The coroner’s office has not released the name of the man killed, pending notification of next of kin.<\/p>\n Cause of death pending autopsy?
