{"id":75842,"date":"2022-01-06T09:40:01","date_gmt":"2022-01-06T15:40:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=75842"},"modified":"2022-01-06T09:40:01","modified_gmt":"2022-01-06T15:40:01","slug":"75842","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=75842","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtsp.com\/article\/news\/local\/hillsboroughcounty\/truck-driver-shooting\/67-3665a762-9b37-42d2-b70b-a0acc5f71abb\">Truck driver shoots and kills robber in self-defense<\/a><\/p>\n<p>SEFFNER, Fla. \u2014 A truck driver shot and killed a robber overnight in an apparent case of self-defense, the Hillsborough County Sheriff&#8217;s Office said.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies were dispatched shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of US-92 and County Road 579 in Seffner.<\/p>\n<p>Based on preliminary information, investigators say they believe the driver was trying to repair his broken-down truck when he was approached by a man who demanded various valuable items.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The driver handed him several items, and the man walked away,&#8221; the sheriff&#8217;s office wrote in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>But, authorities say the alleged thief came back.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Minutes later, the man walked back toward the driver and demanded his cell phone,&#8221; the agency wrote. &#8220;The driver, who was in fear for his life, armed himself with a gun and shot the man.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The truck driver called 911.
