Anthony Sabatini: You Shouldn\u2019t Need Government Permission to Carry a Firearm<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"subheading\">Florida state Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R) spoke with Breitbart News during Turning Point USA\u2019s Americafest and stressed that Americans \u201cshould not have to ask the government for a permit\u201d to carry a gun for self-defense.<\/p>\n<p>Sabatini indicated that being required to get a permit and \u201cpay money\u201d to carry a gun makes no sense.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cI\u2019ve been filing constitutional carry for a couple of years now, but you have some of these soft, RINO Republicans who\u2019ve stood in the way. Thankfully, with our great governor \u2026 Ron DeSantis (R) saying that he would sign the bill \u2026 I think you\u2019re going to see a lot more momentum behind constitutional carry, which is House Bill 103.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sabatini added, \u201cNearly half of our country is already under this proper state of laws. It\u2019s constitutional; it\u2019s called constitutional carry for a reason. It\u2019s the only gun laws that squares well with the Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He suggested that constitutional carry sends a message to would-be criminals as well: \u201cIf you know that people can carry and defend themselves without government permission, you\u2019re going to be less likely to be an aggressor toward that person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On December 19, 2021, Breitbart News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/19\/report-florida-track-become-22nd-constitutional-carry-state\/\">noted<\/a>\u00a0a\u00a0<em>South Florida Sun-Sentinel<\/em>\u00a0report that DeSantis has already made clear he will sign constitutional carry if it reaches his desk.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Sentinel<\/em>\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/news\/politics\/fl-ne-desantis-florida-constitutional-carry-20211219-kchb6nckqze5tilvou5gfsx5iu-story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">observed<\/a>\u00a0that Florida Gun Rights\u2019 Matt Collins posted a video online asking DeSantis, \u201cIf constitutional carry made your desk, would you sign it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis responded, \u201cOf course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sabatini\u2019s constitutional carry legislation would also legalize the open carry of handguns in Florida.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_11334942\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p>On May 20, 2021, Breitbart News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2nd-amendment\/2021\/05\/20\/henry-mcmaster-south-carolina-open-carry\/\">pointed out<\/a>\u00a0that South Carolina Gov.
