{"id":76345,"date":"2022-01-20T22:33:26","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T04:33:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=76345"},"modified":"2022-01-20T22:47:16","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T04:47:16","slug":"76345","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=76345","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/20\/biden-acts-much-more-like-putins-puppet-than-trump-ever-did\/\">Biden acts much more like Putin\u2019s puppet than Trump ever did.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Back in 2017,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-american-interest.com\/2017\/02\/24\/trump-isnt-sounding-like-a-russian-mole\/\">Walter Russell Mead wrote<\/a>: If Donald Trump \u201cwere the Manchurian candidate that people keep wanting to believe that he is, here are some of the things he\u2019d be doing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Limiting fracking as much as he possibly could<\/li>\n<li>Blocking oil and gas pipelines<\/li>\n<li>Opening negotiations for major nuclear arms reductions<\/li>\n<li>Cutting U.S. military spending<\/li>\n<li>Trying to tamp down tensions with Russia\u2019s ally Iran.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Trump, of course, did none of those things, and indeed the entire\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/11\/09\/how-the-media-pushed-hillary-clintons-lies-against-trump\/\">\u201cRussian collusion\u201d narrative<\/a>\u00a0that the press pushed for his entire presidency has been thoroughly exploded.<\/p>\n<p>But someone is doing these things, right now. I\u2019m talking, of course, about Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., who at his shambolic\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/20\/joe-biden-again-tries-to-walk-back-russia-ukraine-minor-incursion-fumble\/\">Wednesday press conference<\/a>\u00a0gave Russia the go-ahead to invade Ukraine, though it was quickly walked back by backwalker-in-chief Jen Psaki, his press secretary.<\/p>\n<p>The last time something like that happened was in 1950, when Secretary of State Dean Acheson gave North Korea what appeared to be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldtribune.com\/dean-achesons-fateful-speech-and-the-outbreak-of-the-korean-war-on-june-25-1950\/\">a green light to invade South Korea<\/a>. The result was the Korean War. One hopes Biden\u2019s blunder will not bear similar consequences.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>But that\u2019s just the latest. Back to Mead\u2019s checklist: Biden has in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/07\/13\/us-drilling-approvals-increase-despite-biden-climate-pledge\/\">fact limited fracking<\/a>\u00a0as much as he possibly can.<\/p>\n<p>Under Trump, the United States achieved energy independence, becoming a net exporter of oil and natural gas. Gas prices were low. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/01\/18\/joe-biden-plans-to-pull-keystone-xl-pipeline-permit-on-first-day-in-office\/\">Keystone Pipeline,<\/a>\u00a0furthermore, promised to bring oil from Canada to the US heartland (\u201cethical oil\u201d activists call it because it doesn\u2019t come from a country dominated by dictators or Islamist enemies).\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/06\/09\/keystone-xl-pipeline-nixed-after-biden-stands-firm-on-permit\/\">Biden canceled that.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gas prices have since skyrocketed, and people are unhappy, such that even\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/money\/2022\/01\/18\/1073053108\/the-movement-to-stick-inflation-blame-on-biden\">NPR has noticed<\/a>\u00a0the Joe Biden \u201cI did that!\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Stickers-100Pcs-Mixed-Different-Patterns\/dp\/B09GKN99JW\/ref=sr_1_5?crid=14XNSBZFZ0ZSE&amp;keywords=i+did+that+sticker&amp;qid=1642712526&amp;sprefix=i+did+that+sti%2Caps%2C549&amp;sr=8-5&amp;tag=nypost-20&amp;asc_refurl=https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/20\/biden-acts-much-more-like-putins-puppet-than-trump-ever-did\/&amp;asc_source=web\">stickers<\/a>\u00a0sprouting on gas pumps everywhere as ordinary Americans vent their frustrations. As for energy independence, Biden was reduced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/08\/11\/biden-demands-opec-boost-oil-production-amid-rising-gas-prices\/\">to begging OPEC<\/a>\u00a0to pump more oil to drive prices down. (OPEC, shockingly,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/coronavirus-pandemic-joe-biden-business-economy-prices-7d567fede0ad9619a32def9a4b02eb37\">declined<\/a>.) High oil prices help Russia of course, since it\u2019s a major oil producer.<\/p>\n<p>And while Biden was blocking pipelines at home, he did manage to give US approval to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/12\/07\/us-insists-nord-stream-2-pipeline-leverage-against-russia-offensive\/\">Nord Stream 2 pipeline<\/a>\u00a0connecting Russian gas fields to Europe, giving the Kremlin a huge cash infusion that will strengthen its position immeasurably while\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/18\/germany-may-halt-nord-stream-2-if-russia-invades-ukraine\/\">making Europe dependent<\/a>\u00a0on President Vladimir Putin, who could freeze them out by turning a few valves.<\/p>\n<p>Basically, Biden\u2019s energy policy involves weakening the United States and strengthening Russia.<\/p>\n<p>As for nuclear arms, the Russians and the Chinese aren\u2019t even interested in arms-control agreements. They\u2019re rushing ahead with new and advanced nuclear-weapons programs while\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/biden-team-weighs-killing-trumps-new-nuclear-weapons\/ar-AASIegt\">Biden looks at canceling<\/a>\u00a0similar US programs.<\/p>\n<p>To be fair, Biden hasn\u2019t cut US military spending. However, as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/08\/31\/biden-to-address-end-of-afghan-war\/\">August\u2019s Afghanistan debacle<\/a>\u00a0illustrates, he has managed to make the US military ineffective. The Chinese and the Taliban mocked us on social media after that disastrous defeat. Joint Chiefs chair\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/17\/gen-mark-milley-tests-positive-for-covid-19-amid-omicron-surge\/\">Gen. Mark Milley,\u00a0<\/a>meanwhile, seems more focused on racial education and pronouns. (And there\u2019s a swell new video out of Army women dancing in barracks. Take that, Putin!)<\/p>\n<p>And tamping down tensions with Iran is putting it mildly, as the Biden administration has been moving back to the failed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/04\/26\/iran-foreign-minister-says-john-kerry-met-with-him-during-trump-years\/\">John Kerry agreement,<\/a>\u00a0in which Iran agrees to pretend not to develop nuclear weapons and we agree to pretend to believe them.<\/p>\n<p>So who\u2019s the Putin puppet?<\/p>\n<aside>\n<figure>No, I\u2019m not saying that Biden is actually Putin\u2019s puppet. For one thing, Putin seems to be good at hiring competent help.<\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>But I am saying that Biden is acting in destructive ways that are difficult to distinguish from what he would be doing had he in fact been put in office to weaken the United States and strengthen Russia, Iran and other\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/10\/05\/taliban-hang-bodies-of-dead-criminals-in-gruesome-public-display\/\">American enemies.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>To the checklist above you can add a deliberate strategy of sowing racial and class division, a spending plan that anyone with half a brain could see would\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/12\/23\/inflation-hits-highest-level-in-39-years-as-consumer-prices-jump\/\">lead to inflation<\/a>\u00a0and an exploding\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/12\/07\/senate-weighs-one-time-move-to-raise-debt-ceiling\/\">national debt,<\/a>\u00a0accompanied by a push for regulatory policies that would constrict supplies and drive prices up further.<\/p>\n<p>The people who voted for Biden mostly thought they were voting for some sort\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/12\/20\/biden-vowed-a-return-to-normalcy-instead-we-got-a-year-of-chaos\/\">of return to normalcy.<\/a>\u00a0We haven\u2019t gotten that, unless you regard the Jimmy Carter years as normal. As a consequence, Biden\u2019s plummeting<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/20\/polls-show-biden-sinking-after-first-year-in-office\/\">\u00a0in the polls.<\/a>\u00a0But we\u2019re still stuck with him for at least three more years.
