Millionaire Book-Writer and Professional Board-Sitter Chelsea Clinton Attacks Substack Authors as \u201cGrifters\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Chelsea Clinton wants to talk about grifting. That\u2019s just great.<\/p>\n

The fruit, apparently, doesn\u2019t fall that far from the global elitist narrative tree.<\/p>\n

Perhaps looking to ride the coattails of those ganging up on \u201ccontroversial anti-vaxx misinformation\u201d (read: any uttered thought not handed down by Dr. Anthony Fauci from the heavens above) or perhaps looking to drum up support by her Twitter sycophants, Chelsea Clinton took to her Twitter account last week to lash out at Substack for\u00a0providing a platform for free speech<\/em>\u00a0and for people to\u00a0voluntarily\u00a0<\/em>subscribe to newsletters they\u2019re interested in and willing to pay for.<\/p>\n

Wow,\u00a0sounds nefarious<\/em>, Chelsea! Glad you stepped in.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The first daughter took exception with the \u201canti-vaxx grift\u201d that is supposedly taking place on here on Substack, citing a\u00a0Guardian<\/em>\u00a0article written last week as her source.<\/p>\n

\u201cA group of vaccine-sceptic writers are generating revenues of at least $2.5m (\u00a31.85m) a year from publishing newsletters for tens of thousands of followers on the online publishing platform\u00a0Substack<\/a>, according to new research,\u201d the\u00a0Guardian wrote<\/a>\u00a0last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy is Substack facilitating science denialists\u2019 ability to profit from destructive lies (and comfortable profiting themselves)?\u201d Clinton asked.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n

The research for the article was performed by an organization called the\u00a0Center for Countering Digital Hate<\/a>\u00a0(of\u00a0course\u00a0<\/em>that\u2019s what its called).\u00a0Because if anything says \u201cdigital hate\u201d nowadays, it\u2019s considering both sides of a story before critically thinking and arriving at your own conclusions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cHow dare you!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Specifically, the\u00a0Guardian\u00a0<\/em>article called out Dr. Joseph Mercola and Alex Berenson, who each have tens of thousands of paid followers on Substack. The intense sleuthwork to break the \u201cstory\u201d that these two are making a couple million dollars a year came from the super exhaustive task of multiplying \u201ctens of thousands of subscribers\u201d with the $6\/month they charge, times 12 months in a year.<\/p>\n

That information is readily available on Substack.<\/p>\n

Huge exclusive, guys. To the victor go the spoils,\u00a0The Guardian.<\/em><\/p>\n

Several paragraphs into the\u00a0Guardian\u00a0<\/em>article, Substack rightly fired back, reminding me of\u00a0exactly\u00a0<\/em>why I chose this platform as an outlet for my content. Substack told\u00a0The Guardian<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we face growing pressure to censor content published on Substack that to some seems dubious or objectionable, our answer remains the same:\u00a0we make decisions based on principles not PR, we will defend free expression, and we will stick to our hands-off approach to content moderation.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n

I find it hilarious that Chelsea Clinton would call writers \u201cgrifters\u201d for selling their opinions on things.<\/p>\n

Putting aside the fact that her parents have raked in tens of millions of dollars writing books, Chelsea herself has a long history of selling her opinions on things for money.<\/p>\n

Back in 2015, Clinton Foundation Donor Penguin Random House\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0a book deal with then 35 year old Chelsea. The details on the advance she was paid were kept under wraps.<\/p>\n

\u201cPenguin Random House has not disclosed how much Chelsea\u2019s book advance is worth, but the Clintons have received some of the largest publishing advances in recent history,\u201d the Washington Free Beacon\u00a0wrote<\/a>\u00a0at the time.<\/p>\n

It continued: \u201cChelsea\u2019s book,\u00a0It\u2019s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired\u00a0&\u00a0Get Going<\/em>,\u00a0is intended to educate young readers\u00a0on themes such as climate change, gender equality, and non-communicable diseases.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n

Wait a second. Climate change? Gender equality?\u00a0Non-communicable diseases?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

You mean to tell me\u00a0Chelsea Clinton was literally selling her opinion on diseases<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0half a decade ago and now she\u2019s taken some indignant exception to others doing the same?<\/p>\n

Clinton also penned the “She Persisted\u201d\u00a0<\/em>book series starting in 2017, which was a successful series highlighting the plight of 13 remarkable women in history.<\/p>\n

Then, in 2021, Clinton\u00a0signed another 11 book deal<\/a>\u00a0for this feminist children\u2019s series.<\/p>\n

Clinton also earned a stunning $600,000 annual salary (hereinafter referred to as:\u00a0a quarter-Berenson)\u00a0<\/em>at NBC News as a \u201cspecial correspondent\u201d starting in November 2011, while she was 31 years old.<\/p>\n

There, she worked \u201con service-related feature assignments for NBC\u2019s \u2018Rock Center with Brian Williams\u2019 until the show\u2019s cancellation,\u201d Politico\u00a0reported<\/a>. It lasted two seasons and was\u00a0cancelled due to low ratings<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Williams was then suspended from NBC in February 2015 after claiming a military helicopter he was in during the Iraq War had been “forced down after being hit by an RPG”, which turned out to be a fabrication. He was earning $10 million per year at the time. When he returned to the air, he was\u00a0demoted<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Clinton has also\u00a0earned more than $9 million<\/a>\u00a0just for sitting on the board of media company IAC\/InterActiveCorp since 2011. IAC is led by billionaire Clinton ally Barry Diller, who also chairs the Expedia board, where Chelsea\u00a0also\u00a0<\/em>sits.<\/p>\n

Clinton reportedly earned $300,000 for\u00a0attending just six meetings<\/a>\u00a0as a Board Member of IAC in 2018, the Daily Mail reported in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome members of the Expedia board were only obligated to attend two meetings last year,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0The Mail reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cChelsea will soon own just over $400,000 of Expedia stock and shares in IAC that add up to an astonishing $6.3 million,\u201d the report continued.<\/p>\n

Clinton has also\u00a0served on the board of Clover Health<\/a>\u00a0since February 2017. As of 2020, she\u00a0held more than<\/a>\u00a0685,000 options valued at about $4.6 million. Clover\u2019s stock is down -85.5% since the company went public.<\/p>\n

Her profile on the company\u2019s website says she is a member of the \u201cNominating and Corporate Governance Committee\u201d.<\/p>\n

Clover\u2019s board, including Clinton, was\u00a0sued<\/a>\u00a0over its $3.7 billion go-public deal and also\u00a0disclosed an SEC investigation<\/a>\u00a0in 2021.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The sweet gigs that just happen to keep falling into Chelsea\u2019s lap have funded a lavish lifestyle for her.<\/p>\n

As Alex Berenson\u00a0pointed out<\/a>\u00a0late last week, Clinton is likely calling out grifters from a\u00a0$10 million New York City apartment<\/a>\u00a0that the Daily Mail called in 2013 \u201cNew York’s longest apartment\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
