{"id":77934,"date":"2022-02-24T13:25:24","date_gmt":"2022-02-24T19:25:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=77934"},"modified":"2022-02-24T13:25:24","modified_gmt":"2022-02-24T19:25:24","slug":"77934","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=77934","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s one point that gets little notice about Ukraine.<br \/>\nAnd why weak leaders and leadership always causes problems.<\/p>\n<p>When the Soviet Union collapsed in &#8217;91, Ukraine became a sovereign country again, and in return for handing over their nuclear weapons, <em>accepted security deals from Russia and the United States.<\/em><br \/>\nAt the end of the Cold War, Ukraine had the third biggest nuclear arsenal on Earth with over 5,000 nuclear warheads.<\/p>\n<p>The 1994 agreement, known as the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Budapest_Memorandum_on_Security_Assurances\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Budapest Memorandum<\/a> had the <strong>U.S., U.K. and Russia <em>guarantee<\/em><\/strong> Ukraine&#8217;s security for the nation signing on to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and giving up their nukes.<\/p>\n<p>However, when Russia &#8216;annexed&#8217; Crimea in 2014, anyone with 2 working brains cells knew that Putin&#8217;s word meant nothing.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine demanded the former Soviet Union and America respect its sovereignty and existing borders, but 28 later?
