{"id":78077,"date":"2022-02-27T23:18:14","date_gmt":"2022-02-28T05:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=78077"},"modified":"2022-02-27T23:18:14","modified_gmt":"2022-02-28T05:18:14","slug":"78077","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=78077","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kfor.com\/news\/local\/protest-convoy-rolls-through-oklahoma-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Convoy Rolls Through Oklahoma City to Protest COVID-19 Mandates<\/a><\/p>\n<p>OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR)\u2014 A group of truck drivers called \u201cThe People\u2019s Convoy,\u201d trekked through Oklahoma City on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The convoy started in Adelanto, California on Wednesday and is making its way to the Washington D.C. area with the mission to peacefully protest against COVID-19 mandates, as well as ending the state of emergency declared in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe last 23 months of the COVID-19 pandemic have been a rough road for all Americans to travel: spiritually, emotionally, physically, and \u2014 not least \u2014 financially,\u201d said The People\u2019s Convoy in a press release. \u201cWith the advent of the vaccine and workable therapeutic agents\u2026 it is now time to re-open the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As the convoy came through the metro Sunday, Oklahoman\u2019s lined the highways in support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe live in America, we have the freedom to do what we want. We have medical freedom, and nothing should come in the way of that,\u201d said Scott Spivey, a convoy supporter.<\/p>\n<p>David Barnes, another supporter, told KFOR \u201cthe convoy is just basically a statement of people that are uniting across the country.\u201d He added he was there to \u201csupport our freedom and the Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CDC to significantly loosen pandemic mask guidelines Friday<br \/>\nOn Friday, the CDC eased its guidelines. The new guidelines say 70% of the U.S. population is in counties where the coronavirus is considered to be posing a low or medium threat to hospitals. Therefore, people living there don\u2019t need to wear a mask indoors.<\/p>\n<p>The agency is still advising that people, including schoolchildren, wear masks where the risk of COVID-19 is high. That\u2019s the situation in about 37% of U.S. counties, where about 28% of Americans reside.<\/p>\n<p>Oklahoma State Medical Association President, Mary Clarke, sent KFOR a statement saying in part, \u201cthough many of the mandates have been halted, COVID is not over.
