{"id":78212,"date":"2022-03-02T19:24:14","date_gmt":"2022-03-03T01:24:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=78212"},"modified":"2022-03-02T19:24:14","modified_gmt":"2022-03-03T01:24:14","slug":"78212","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=78212","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buckeyefirearms.org\/breaking-constitutional-carry-bill-headed-governors-desk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Constitutional Carry Bill Headed to [Ohio] Governor&#8217;s Desk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, the Ohio House voted 57-35 to pass\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislature.ohio.gov\/legislation\/legislation-summary?id=GA134-SB-215\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Senate Bill 215<\/a>, sponsored by Sen. Terry Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>About an hour later, the Senate concurred with a vote of 24-8. This means the bill now moves to the Governor&#8217;s desk!<\/p>\n<p>The bill seeks to make a concealed handgun license optional in Ohio. It also clarifies how and when a person must notify law enforcement about carrying a firearm, so that an officer simply asks.<\/p>\n<p>We are at a historic moment in Ohio legislative history. This is the closest we&#8217;ve ever been to passing a bill to make the licensing process optional for concealed carry of a firearm. Bills have been presented in former legislative sessions, but have not advanced.<\/p>\n<p>If the Governor signs this bill, we&#8217;ll have Constitutional Carry in Ohio law in about 90 days!<\/p>\n<p>Buckeye Firearms Association declared this our #1 legislative priority for the 134th General Assembly and have been working on an almost daily basis to make Constitutional Carry a reality in Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>As of the publication of this article, 21 other states have some form of Permitless Carry, and Ohio is poised to become number 22.
