\nStudent charged in Olathe, Kansas school shooting<\/a><\/p>\n

MISSION, Kan. (AP) – An 18-year-old football player was charged Saturday in a shooting that wounded an administrator and a school resource officer at a suburban Kansas City high school.<\/p>\n

The Johnson County prosecutor\u2019s office announced Saturday that Jaylon Desean Elmore is charged with attempted capital murder in the shooting Friday at Olathe East High School. His bond is set at $1 million and no first appearance has been set..<\/p>\n

Online records show he has a previous conviction for aggravated robbery.<\/p>\n

KMBC 9 News learned<\/a> that a school administrator pulled the student, who was a senior, from class this morning after receiving a tip that the teen had a gun in his backpack.<\/p>\n

They went to the administrator’s office. The student refused to open his bag. That’s when the assistant principal called for the school resource officer. When SRO entered the office and that’s when the shots were fired.<\/p>\n

An armed school resource officer shot and wounded an alleged school shooter, and the officer himself was shot and wounded, at Kansas\u2019s Olathe East High School on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

An administrator, a school resource officer, and a student \u2014 the alleged shooter \u2014 were injured in the incident, which occurred around 11 a.m., the\u00a0Kansas City Star<\/em>\u00a0reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The school administrator and resource officer were both in \u201cstable condition,\u201d as of 2:30 p.m. local time, KSHB\u00a0observed<\/a>.<\/p>\n
