{"id":79798,"date":"2022-04-09T17:14:47","date_gmt":"2022-04-09T22:14:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=79798"},"modified":"2022-04-09T17:14:47","modified_gmt":"2022-04-09T22:14:47","slug":"79798","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=79798","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nraila.org\/articles\/20220408\/nebraska-your-action-needed-constitutional-carry-set-for-a-monday-vote#ixzz7Q0BnEqYf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nebraska Constitutional Carry Set for a Monday Vote!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next Monday, the Nebraska Senate is poised to vote on important Constitutional Carry legislation, Legislative Bill 773!\u00a0 The measure is still progressing through a series of votes before it officially passes out of the Senate to the Governor\u2019s desk.\u00a0 <strong>That is why it is more important than ever that you immediately contact your State Senator and ask them to SUPPORT Legislative Bill 773 without further amendments!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Half of the Nation has now enacted some form of Constitutional Carry.\u00a0 Nebraska can lead the charge for the second half to do so as well.\u00a0 However, an attempt is being made to add Amendment 2106 to this important self-defense measure,\u00a0which codifies Omaha\u2019s firearm registration, stigmatizes firearms by increasing penalties for non-violent offenses, and makes\u00a0\u201cfailure to inform\u201d\u00a0a felony.<\/p>\n<p>The point of Constitutional carry is to make it easy and affordable for everyone to exercise their right to self-defense.\u00a0\u00a0Amendment 2106 is a discriminatory attempt to place Omaha\u2019s extreme firearm registration requirement into state law, only affecting Nebraskan\u2019s in Omaha.\u00a0 Your NRA-ILA stands staunchly in opposition to these additions to LB 773.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=47134\" data-uri=\"5c3a0673a0cad2d46cac41485ae3eaa3\"><strong>Legislative\u00a0Bill 773<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>recognizes that a law-abiding adult who is legally allowed to carry a concealed firearm, can do so without first having to obtain government permission.\u00a0 This ensures that citizens have the right to self-defense without government red tape or delays.\u00a0 Additionally, this legislation maintains\u00a0the existing concealed handgun license system,\u00a0so citizens who still wish to obtain a permit may do so.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nebraska Constitutional Carry Set for a Monday Vote!
