Ron DeSantis\u2019 office announced Monday that the state\u2019s education department rejected 41% of the math textbooks for reportedly including \u201cindoctrinating concepts\u201d and Common Core standards, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/18\/ron-desantis-florida-education-crt-math-textbooks\/\">Daily Caller News Foundation<\/a>. Florida\u2019s education department released examples of CRT material Thursday after they received multiple requests from the public to view the alleged controversial books, according to a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fldoe.org\/academics\/standards\/instructional-materials\/\">press release<\/a>. VVVVVVVV<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fldoe.org\/academics\/standards\/instructional-materials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.fldoe.org\/academics\/standards\/instructional-materials<\/a><\/p>\n<p>^^^^^^^^^^^<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese examples do not represent an exhaustive list of input received by the Department,\u201d the presser reads.<\/p>\n<p>One textbook showed students a bar graph that measures racial prejudice by political identification. DeSantis\u2019 spokeswoman claims that the governor\u2019s office is not privy to specifics on which books were rejected.<\/p>\n<p>Mainstream news outlets and left-wing activists capitalized on the slow release of CRT examples to criticize Americans who take issue with racial and gender ideology being pushed in public schools.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/04\/18\/florida-critical-race-theory-math-textbooks-00025918?nname=politico-nightly&amp;nid=00000170-c000-da87-af78-e185fa700000&amp;nrid=0000014e-f0f6-dd93-ad7f-f8f7ed7e0001&amp;nlid=2670445\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Politico<\/a>\u00a0reported DeSantis\u2019 math textbook rejection is part of his push to prohibit educators from teaching lessons on gender ideology to students under eight years old.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/04\/17\/us\/florida-math-textbooks-critical-race-theory\/index.html\">CNN<\/a>\u00a0cited \u201ceducators\u201d that claimed CRT is \u201cgenerally not included in grade school teaching.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CRT-inspired materials in textbooks are popping up around the country, according to multiple reports. Paradise Valley Unified School District in Arizona also considered adding a math textbook that claimed conservatives are more racist than liberals.<\/p>\n<p>Other examples include a public school district in Missouri asking questions on math homework about the sexual abuse of a minor, according to DeSantis\u2019 spokeswoman. Another question asked about a mother who worked as a \u201cpimp, prostitute,\u201d and \u201cNight Club Dancer.\u201d Other listed answers include \u201cbookie\u201d and \u201cdrug dealer.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is math homework from a public school district in Missouri. Seattle Public Schools designed its K-12 mathematics curriculum around ethnic studies, according to the district\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.k12.wa.us\/sites\/default\/files\/public\/socialstudies\/pubdocs\/Math%20SDS%20ES%20Framework.pdf\">website<\/a>. Oregon\u2019s Department of Education\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/asking-students-to-show-their-work-in-math-class-is-a-form-of-white-supremacy\">insisted<\/a>\u00a0that asking students to show their work was a form of \u201cwhite supremacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Politicians such as DeSantis and Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin capitalized on concerned parents who feel unheard by left-leaning school boards.
