In Buffalo, Biden calls for gun control that\u2019s already law and didn\u2019t work<\/a><\/p>\n Joe Biden brought his confusing anti-gun rhetoric to Buffalo, Tuesday \u2013 a city still grieving the loss of 10 good souls who were cut down Saturday by a hell-bound madman.<\/p>\n Even though most of the victims have yet to be buried, Biden didn\u2019t hesitate to use the solemn occasion as an opportunity to advocate for more gun control, in this case another federal \u201cassault weapon\u201d ban.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are certain things we can do,\u201d Biden told the grieving crowd. \u201cWe can keep assault weapons off of our streets. We did it before and violence went down.\u201d<\/p>\n Even the FBI has acknowledged that the Federal Assault Weapons Ban that Biden referenced, which was a part of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, did little to deter or prevent crime.<\/p>\n Besides, New York already has a stringent \u201cassault weapon\u201d ban, as well as every other anti-gun law Biden has ever called for. They\u2019re codified into state law, yet none of them worked.<\/p>\n The mass murderer was not stopped by New York\u2019s SAFE Act, which bans AR-15s and similar weapons. The state\u2019s ban on standard-capacity magazines didn\u2019t stop him, nor did the New York\u2019s mandatory background check requirement or its Red Flag gun-confiscation law.<\/p>\n New York State Police were called to the gunman\u2019s high school last June because he threatened to commit a mass shooting during the school\u2019s graduation ceremonies. He was involuntarily committed to a mental hospital for an evaluation, and was released after a day and a half.
