{"id":82016,"date":"2022-06-07T18:18:42","date_gmt":"2022-06-07T23:18:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=82016"},"modified":"2022-06-07T18:18:42","modified_gmt":"2022-06-07T23:18:42","slug":"82016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=82016","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BLUF<br \/>\nBut the big takeaway I think here is \u2014 they want to push Congress and social media to control us more because they know we are winning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/nick-arama\/2022\/06\/07\/former-obama-adviser-lets-cat-out-of-the-bag-on-what-dems-want-to-do-to-control-us-n575689\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Former Obama Adviser Lets Cat out of the Bag on What Dems Want to Do to Control Us<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Former White House Communications Director for the Obama administration Dan Pfeiffer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=V7s9VrfqLBU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appeared on MSNBC\u2019s \u201cMorning Joe\u201d on Monday<\/a>\u00a0and what he said was revealing, threatening, and great\u2013all at the same time.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/V7s9VrfqLBU\" width=\"600\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Pfeiffer claimed that the people who listen to \u201cright-wing media\u201d were \u201cmore likely to believe conspiracy theories about vaccines, conspiracy theories about elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is the problem in this country is that we have a very well funded, very aggressive operation that is spreading these lies for profits and political gain, and it is incredibly dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He put out what was the constant theme of the segment \u2014 attacking Facebook for purveying \u201cnews,\u201d which Mika laughingly said was \u201cnot where you get news.\u201d Because how dare you not listen to mainstream outlets like hers?<\/p>\n<p>That was quietly hilarious, when you think about all the conspiracy theories that Democrats and MSNBC have pushed over the last few years, with Russia collusion, paid for and spread by the DNC, with the Clinton campaign top of the list. People on the left believe all kinds of crazy things about pee tapes and Ginni Thomas (Justice Clarence Thomas\u2019 wife) trying to \u201coverthrow\u201d the government (big scoop: she did no such thing) because of the crazy pushed by liberal mainstream media. Meanwhile, while there\u2019s a lot from the mainstream against conspiracy theories on the right, there\u2019s not so much targeted at deflating the conspiracy theories that flourish on the left.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Pfeiffer went on to say that the right-wing media advantage was much more powerful than that of the progressives, which is hilarious again, when you consider that virtually all of the mainstream media and the social media platforms are left-oriented. But what he\u2019s expressing is the fear of the growing, right-wing alternative media that they don\u2019t control. That\u2019s why the left freaks out when you have even a guy in the middle like Elon Musk, who has been fairly liberal, gives them fits, just because he believes in free speech and has shown that he wouldn\u2019t necessarily go along with the narrative.<\/p>\n<p>They don\u2019t even want to lose one media platform. It\u2019s why they pushed the Disinformation Governance Board, and why they\u2019re pushing social media so hard, even when those organs like Facebook are controlled by liberals like Mark Zuckerberg because they want to close down anything other than the narrative. They\u2019re hoping they can push Facebook to \u2018regulate\u2019 more.<\/p>\n<p>But then Pfeiffer said the quiet part out loud, what they also want \u2014 that it was time for Congress to \u201cstep in\u201d and \u201cregulate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe problem around this is getting worse every single day,\u201d Pfeiffer said. \u201cThe right-wing media advantage is so much more powerful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pfeiffer then said it\u2019s time for those on the left to \u201cradically rethink how we communicate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone has a role to play here. Democrats have to be more aggressive. We have to invest in building up our own megaphone to compete with Republicans. That doesn\u2019t mean we build our own Fox News, that doesn\u2019t mean we run away from the mainstream media, but we have to invest in progressive outlets. A lot of people in the media have to rethink about how they deal with people who lie for a living, and then the social media companies have an obligation to do more, we can\u2019t rely on them to do it on their own. So this is where Congress and the regulators have to step in to think about how we regulate these algorithms that are pushing this disinformation for profit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTotally,\u201d Mika said.<\/p>\n<p>Talk about one more reason to vote them out of office, so Congress never complies with controlling information in the way that Democrats want.<\/p>\n<p>But it also reveals something else. We are winning. They know it, and that\u2019s why they\u2019re pushing so hard for these midterms. The truth will out. When they can\u2019t control everything, people can evaluate and see the truth. Americans wouldn\u2019t be dictated to anymore with information. That\u2019s why the top news and podcasts are Republican. And that\u2019s what is scaring them so much, as Pfeiffer revealed.<\/p>\n<p>More information is a \u201cproblem for democracy?\u201d How? What he means is it\u2019s a problem for the Democrats and their narrative. Truth tends to do that. Americans have a hunger for the truth, so maybe Democrats may want to try some of it?<\/p>\n<p>Pfeiffer followed up that interview with a tweet in response to Nate Silver (who is no conservative), but someone willing to tell the truth \u2014 that the mainstream media has a decidedly liberal bias. But Pfeiffer claimed the liberal mainstream media \u201chas no interest in electing Dems (nor should they).\u201d That\u2019s laughable.<\/p>\n<p>He was just on MSDNC, with them giving him a whole platform to do just that.
