{"id":82328,"date":"2022-06-14T09:31:32","date_gmt":"2022-06-14T14:31:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=82328"},"modified":"2022-06-14T09:31:32","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T14:31:32","slug":"82328","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=82328","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanthinker.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/the_rinos_are_out_in_force_on_the_framework_for_new_gun_laws.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The RINOs are out in force on the &#8216;framework&#8217; for new gun laws<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was news that sent shudders through every person who supports the Second Amendment: ten Republican senators have signed on to a &#8220;framework&#8221; that will allegedly improve gun safety in America.\u00a0\u00a0You can guess who these RINOs are \u2014 it&#8217;s the same bunch who will always agree to limit American rights to keep up with their friends on the Democrat side of the aisle.\u00a0\u00a0And while there are a couple of good ideas in the framework, the rest of it is useless, harmful, and\/or unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from the bipartisan group of senators, they have an agreement in principle for legislation that includes &#8220;needed mental health resources, improves school safety and support for students, and helps ensure dangerous criminals and those who are adjudicated as mentally ill can&#8217;t purchase weapons[.]&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0More specifically, the senators have agreed on the following concepts, which I&#8217;ve listed along with my comments:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>Funding for school safety resources.<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0If this means armed safety officers and hardened infrastructure, that&#8217;s good.\u00a0\u00a0Cynically, I don&#8217;t think it will mean that.<\/p>\n<p><em>Extending background checks to juvenile criminal justice records and mental health records for buyers under 21<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0This is a good idea and might actually stop some of the crazier 18-, 19-, and 20-year-olds from beating background checks because their juvenile records are under seal.<\/p>\n<p><em>Expanding mental health and support services in schools.<\/em> \u00a0Schools have become lunatic asylums that encourage race-hatred and push students to deny biological reality.\u00a0\u00a0It used to be that liberal colleges took in bright, normal kids and, after four (or five or six) years of marinating these kids in leftist gender and race theories, graduated basket cases.\u00a0\u00a0Now those same theories are part of elementary school curricula, so I don&#8217;t see schools as bastions standing ready to help students&#8217; mental health.<\/p>\n<p><em>Penalties for straw purchases<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Meh.\u00a0\u00a0The likelihood of this effectively ending gun crimes is limited at best.\u00a0\u00a0Other laws already cover this practice in one way or another, and they&#8217;ve been ineffectual.<\/p>\n<p><em>Federal government funds for state and tribe red flag laws.<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0Red flag laws, which deprive people of a constitutional right without due process, are unconstitutional.\u00a0\u00a0That&#8217;s it.\u00a0\u00a0They are.\u00a0\u00a0And it&#8217;s no use saying, &#8220;But they might save lives&#8221; because they also might cost lives.\u00a0\u00a0Imagine a vindictive woman calling in a red flag on her legally armed boyfriend and, once he&#8217;s disarmed, killing him.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to leftist and RINO promises, there is no such thing as perfect safety.\u00a0\u00a0Everything comes at a cost, and those costs must be balanced.<\/p>\n<p>Before America went crazy in 2020,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/usafacts.org\/data\/topics\/security-safety\/crime-and-justice\/firearms\/firearm-deaths\/\">around 40,000 people died annually<\/a>\u00a0from gunshots (the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/data\/nvsr\/nvsr68\/nvsr68_09-508.pdf\">majority of which were and are suicides<\/a>).\u00a0\u00a0Meanwhile,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/datavisualizations.heritage.org\/firearms\/defensive-gun-uses-in-the-us\/\">guns are used defensively<\/a>\u00a0between 500,000 and 3 million times a year.\u00a0\u00a0To the extent red flag laws run the risk of unconstitutionally interfering with this massive number of defensive uses, they shouldn&#8217;t be passed and, if passed, should be stricken.<\/p>\n<p>But what about those RINOs who signed on to that red flag monstrosity?\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/usafacts.org\/data\/topics\/security-safety\/crime-and-justice\/firearms\/firearm-deaths\/\">Here&#8217;s the list:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The group on the release includes<br \/>\nRepublican Sens.
