Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) appallingly declared in a tweet last Tuesday that the fact that it took the Uvalde police\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jerrywilson\/2022\/07\/17\/state-investigation-report-of-uvalde-shooting-reveals-its-even-worse-than-previously-reported-n596762\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">so long<\/a>\u00a0to respond to the horrific Robb Elementary School\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/bonchie\/2022\/05\/24\/breaking-14-students-1-teacher-dead-after-mass-shooting-at-school-in-uvalde-tx-shooter-killed-n569283\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mass shooting<\/a>\u00a0\u201cputs to bed, forever\u201d the \u201cgood guy with a gun\u201d scenario often cited by Second Amendment defenders in their arguments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve always known it video<\/a>\u00a0from Uvalde was indeed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jimthompson\/2022\/07\/18\/monday-editorial-cartoon-uvalde-police-tape-has-a-new-purpose-n597030\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gut-wrenching<\/a>, it in no way proved Murphy\u2019s point \u2013 in fact, it proved just the opposite for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/sister-toldjah\/2022\/07\/14\/sen-chris-murphy-confirms-he-is-just-a-genuinely-awful-person-n594634\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reasons I<\/a>\u00a0and thousands of others\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChrisMurphyCT\/status\/1547064816162029568\/retweets\/with_comments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">explained<\/a>\u00a0to him in response to his remarks.<\/p>\n<p>In the aftermath of the deadly Greenwood, Indiana mall\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/beccalower\/2022\/07\/17\/breaking-2-dead-2-injured-in-shooting-at-indianapolis-mall-n596830\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mass shooting<\/a>\u00a0Sunday where three were killed and two were injured, Murphy has gone silent on his \u201cgood guy with a gun\u201d theory \u2013 perhaps because Greenwood Police Chief James Ison\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/nick-arama\/2022\/07\/17\/breaking-good-guy-with-gun-takes-out-shooter-in-indiana-mall-shooting-n596870\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">noted<\/a>\u00a0in a press conference that the shooter was shot dead \u201calmost as soon as he began\u201d by a \u201cgood Samaritan,\u201d a 22-year-old unidentified man who\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/multiple-casualties-mall-incident-indianapolis-police\/story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ison said<\/a>\u00a0was \u201clawfully carrying\u201d his firearm:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe real hero of the day is the citizen that was lawfully carrying a firearm in that food court and was able to stop that shooter almost as soon as he began,\u201d Ison told reporters during a press conference on Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p>Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=412221884269097&amp;set=a.224526473038640\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0that the suspect was \u201cshot by an armed individual,\u201d whom he called a \u201cgood Samaritan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis person saved lives tonight,\u201d Myers said in a statement late Sunday. \u201cOn behalf of the City of Greenwood, I since the Indiana shooting has been to pat himself on the back for his work in getting the so-called \u201cbipartisan\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jenvanlaar\/2022\/06\/21\/breaking-text-of-senate-gun-bill-released-and-your-rights-are-dangling-by-a-thread-n582129\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gun bill<\/a>\u201d passed and signed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/gun-control-biden-bill-into-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">into law<\/a>\u00a0by President Biden. He hasn\u2019t said one word about the shooting, nor the hero\u2019s quick actions which undoubtedly saved countless lives that day if witness and police reports about what happened are accurate.<\/p>\n<p>Strangely enough, Murphy has also been silent on his theory in the aftermath of another \u201cgood guy with a gun\u201d story, this one out of Missouri, as RedState deputy managing editor Susie Moore\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/smoosieq\/2022\/07\/18\/yet-another-good-guy-with-gun-story-this-time-in-missouri-n597036\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote about<\/a>\u00a0earlier. Also, there\u2019s been nothing from him regarding a disturbing June incident where a deranged person repeatedly tried to enter an Alabama elementary school through locked windows and doors, but didn\u2019t get any further because he was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gadsdentimes.com\/story\/news\/2022\/06\/09\/police-incident-walnut-park-school\/7567393001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shot and killed<\/a>\u00a0by law enforcement in the parking lot during a scuffle with police officers.<\/p>\n<p>Anytime there\u2019s a mass shooting in this country, Democrats are the first ones to come out swinging with the vile accusations and definitive proclamations about how we \u201cneed more restrictions\u201d and how the \u201cgood guy with a gun\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/sister-toldjah\/2019\/09\/02\/loser-rep-eric-swalwell-takes-appalling-cheap-shot-good-guys-guns-odessa-mass-shooting-n114406\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scenario is BS<\/a>. But when all the dust has cleared and the actual facts come out in some of these cases, these same Dems suddenly become \u201ctoo busy\u201d to revisit the issue and admit they were wrong.<\/p>\n<p>We know why.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, maybe it\u2019s better Murphy stay quiet than speak on this again and remove all doubt about his stupidity and willful ignorance, as Shannon Watts from \u201cMoms Demand Action\u201d did\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/bonchie\/2022\/07\/18\/anti-gun-activist-rages-after-good-guy-with-a-gun-drops-mass-shooter-in-indiana-n596951\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in her own responses<\/a>\u00a0to the Greenwood mass shooting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
