FAKE WOKENESS: Two New Junk Science \u2018Studies\u2019 Suggest Racism, Fears of Blacks Drive Opposition To Gun Control.<\/a><\/p>\n

Remember the\u00a0RAND study<\/a>\u00a0that found only 123 of 27,900 gun\u00a0control studies actually used the scientific method to come to their conclusions? Well, gun\u00a0control advocates have trotted out two fresh, steaming new \u201cstudies\u201d and the flies are already swarming. The University of Wisconsin has promoted a new finding that whites own\u00a0guns<\/a> and oppose gun control\u00a0because of racism and a fear of blacks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And within days of squeezing out that specimen of woke clownishness, the American Psychological Association published\u00a0their own \u201cstudy\u201d<\/a>\u00a0that \u2014 you guessed it \u2014 whites who support gun\u00a0rights are racist.<\/p>\n

Interestingly the same study showed that when whites support gun\u00a0control they\u2019re racist too! So you\u2019re racist. I\u2019m racist. We\u2019re all racists! To the uber-woke\u00a0racists at the<\/del>\u00a0APA, if you\u2019re white, you\u00a0must<\/em>\u00a0be a racist.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, here in the real world, gun owners and gun rights supporters \u2014 whatever their color \u2014 are some of the most open-minded, tolerant and welcoming people in our communities. Contrary to what the racial hucksters, the Grievance Industry and critical race theory practitioners are selling, most Americans aren\u2019t racist. And frankly, most Americans oppose\u00a0racist gun control laws<\/a>, too.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Most normal people rightfully reject claims of inherent racism in whites (or anyone else), or any of the other woke, social justice nonsense peddled by the gun-hating left in America.<\/p>\n

In fact, plenty of black gun\u00a0owners would dismiss this Wisconsin Badger junk science (or the APA\u2019s trash \u201cscience\u201d) as nothing but poppycock.<\/p>\n

The folks over at\u00a0The Federalist<\/em>\u00a0have the deets on these new \u201cstudies\u201d<\/a>\u00a0. . .<\/p>\n

White people own\u00a0guns<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 and oppose gun-control legislation \u2014 because they are racist and fear black people. Two new studies advance this dangerous narrative building among our academic elites. While such rhetoric is perhaps unsurprising among political\u00a0pundits<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0celebrities<\/a>, otherwise serious academics are now ascribing racist motives to gun\u00a0ownership and opposition to gun\u00a0control. These studies are not only based on a slew of bigoted assumptions, but also bad science.<\/em><\/p>\n

The University of Wisconsin recently\u00a0promoted<\/a>\u00a0a new\u00a0study<\/a>\u00a0contending that in U.S. counties where black people were enslaved in 1860, gun\u00a0ownership is higher today. In fact, gun\u00a0ownership, they say, is correlated to the number of slaves formerly in each county. To support this more-slaves-means-more-guns<\/a>\u00a0theory, the authors construct a historical narrative that whites feared newly freed slaves, bought\u00a0guns<\/a>\u00a0for self-defense, and then this fear somehow trickled down over 160 years.<\/em><\/p>\n

But interestingly enough, just last month, National Public Radio ran a\u00a0story<\/a>\u00a0on how black people are the fastest growing group of gun\u00a0owners. If gun\u00a0ownership is a product of white people being racist, then this is quite curious.<\/em><\/p>\n

The University of Wisconsin study suffers from a series of flaws, even apart from its poisonous premise that white people believe or feel certain things because they are white. You\u2019d never say the same about other races, and we shouldn\u2019t give a pass to academics who traffic in the same type of racism\u2026\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

A few days after the release of the slavery-predicts-gun-ownership study, the American Psychological Association (APA)\u00a0released<\/a>\u00a0another study contending that whites support gun\u00a0rights because they are racist, and when whites oppose gun\u00a0rights, that\u2019s also racist.<\/em><\/p>\n

Rest assured, gun\u00a0control advocates will try to use these junk studies \u2014 like thousands that came before them \u2014 to paint patriotic, gun-loving Americans of all colors and persuasions as racists no matter their race, sex or religion.<\/p>\n

And why not? Using pseudo-scientific hokum to support claims that gun\u00a0control laws prevent criminal misuse of\u00a0guns<\/a>\u00a0is actually\u00a0less scientifically accurate<\/em><\/a>\u00a0than claiming drinking milk causes car accidents. But they have no fear of anyone in the media debunking the junk science on which they base their calls for civilian disarmament.<\/p>\n

Plus most politicians and low-information types will probably believe it\u2026so they keep pushing the politicized garbage to further their disarmament narrative. And so it goes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
