Much like the rest of his corporate media colleagues, Pelley seems to have an incessant desire to prop up the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bennyjohnson\/status\/1571842548360151040?s=20&amp;t=CjCGcXJ6Y8FBCex4EgQ7Uw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">declining president<\/a>\u00a0instead of making him answer tough questions.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, Republicans aren\u2019t \u201cgoing after\u201d Hunter to get to Joe. They are raising legitimate concerns about someone whose foreign business dealings and criminal dabbling, combined with his closeness to POTUS, pose a serious threat to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/28\/hunter-bidens-laptops-are-now-an-active-national-security-threat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the national security of the United States<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s response, however, was much worse than Pelley\u2019s lame attempt at giving him a soundbite for the corporate media to use the next time Hunter re-enters the news cycle.<\/p>\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c3f7f93915b40886ba6c50c3de4a537c\" class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c3f7f93915b40886ba6c50c3de4a537c fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\">\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1931055637\" class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6 d-flex justify-content-center\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\">\u201cI love my son, number one. And no, there\u2019s not a single thing that I\u2019ve observed at all that will affect me or the United States relative to my son Hunter,\u201d the president said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>While it\u2019s true that the president can\u2019t be blamed for all of Hunter\u2019s deviance, including his struggles with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/05\/28\/hunter-biden-bragged-about-smoking-crack-with-d-c-mayor-marion-barry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">addiction,<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/26\/read-the-gun-background-check-form-where-hunter-biden-claimed-he-wasnt-using-drugs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">firearms\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefdrlst.wpengine.com\/2021\/03\/25\/report-hunter-biden-may-have-lied-on-federal-background-check-form-to-purchase-a-gun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">firearm forms<\/a>, a coverup by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/25\/report-secret-service-tried-to-clean-up-biden-family-mess-in-hunters-missing-gun-incident\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Secret Service<\/a>, the military,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bennyjohnson\/status\/1546888545012523008?s=20&amp;t=3YC5N2ZMU27XE6g4CduuNQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hookers<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/11\/20\/hunter-biden-is-the-father-of-an-arkansas-baby-court-filings-reveal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">estranged girlfriend and child<\/a>, there are plenty of times when the Biden family\u2019s willingness to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/04\/hunter-biden-joins-dad-for-july-4-as-investigation-grinds-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">keep Hunter close<\/a>\u00a0has compromised their patriarch and subsequently, the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter didn\u2019t just exchange access to his father, who was vice president at the time, for cash to fund the family\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/joe-biden-has-made-millions-since-leaving-vice-presidency-moved-into-5m-mansion-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lavish lifestyle<\/a>, he was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/29\/senators-release-receipts-showing-direct-payments-from-foreign-oligarchs-to-hunter-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">paid by oligarchs<\/a>\u00a0and businessmen in countries that have a vested interest in meddling with US affairs.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s concerning because it makes the chief of state, Hunter\u2019s dad, susceptible to sway from any of Hunter\u2019s foreign buddies, including American enemies such as China. Already, Joe\u2019s eagerness to reward those business partners, such as selling the Chinese gas giant that has ties to Hunter\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/08\/biden-sold-oil-from-emergency-reserves-to-chinese-gas-giant-tied-to-his-scandal-plagued-son\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">oil from emergency reserves<\/a>, has affected how the president runs the country.<\/p>\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a162ef5029b8f54399e08ef2070ee08f\" class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a162ef5029b8f54399e08ef2070ee08f fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\">\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1671770303\" class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10 d-flex justify-content-center\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-1\" class=\"mb-30\">It\u2019s no secret that Joe, while he was still vice president, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/joe-biden-met-14-hunters-business-associates-vice-president\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">met with more than a dozen<\/a>\u00a0of Hunter\u2019s business associates. Some of those meetings were even held in the West Wing of the White House. Yet, Joe has repeatedly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/28\/joe-biden-knew-about-hunters-foreign-dealings-and-lied-about-it-voicemail-shows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lied about his knowledge<\/a>\u00a0of Hunter\u2019s overseas business dealings.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Pelley had the perfect opportunity to press Joe on why he lied, what happened in those West Wing meetings, and how involved he\u2019s been brokering deals that the whole Biden family, including Joe\u2019s brother James, reaped the benefits of.
