\nIt\u2019s about those \u201cweapons of war\u201d the violence monopolists are trying to swindle the people into turning their backs on and surrendering. It\u2019s about tricking Americans into thinking it\u2019s all about hunting (which they then regulate through licensing, restrictions, and lead ammunition bans that are extended to the non-sporting gun owner population). And by appointing known prohibitionists and masking their affiliations, the Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Council is doing its part to help spread the deception.<\/p>\n
Hunting Council Masks Hostility to Founding Intent with Gun Banner\u2019s Appointment<\/a><\/p>\n U.S.A. \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0-(Ammoland.com<\/a>)-\u00a0\u201cThe Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Council\u2019s purpose is to provide recommendations to the Federal Government, through the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture, that (a) benefit wildlife resources; (b) encourage partnership among the public; sporting conservation organizations; Federal, State, Tribal, and territorial governments; and (c) benefit fair chase recreational hunting and safe recreational shooting sports,\u201d\u00a0the Council declares on its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n A name included among\u00a0primary council members<\/a>\u00a0raises a red flag, particularly in how it is presented:<\/p>\n \u201cRyan Busse (Unaffiliated) representing shooting sports interests\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n \u201cThe appointment of Ryan Busse to the Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Council, a federal advisory committee, is a farce and demonstrates the contempt the Biden administration holds for lawful gun owners who hunt on America\u2019s public and private lands,\u201d Mark Oliva, the\u00a0National Shooting Sports Foundation\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0Managing Director of Public Affairs tells\u00a0AmmoLand News<\/em>. Busse was listed as \u2018unaffiliated,\u2019 but that is not true. He is not an unaffiliated shooting sports interest expert.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe is an advisor for the Giffords gun control group and has openly advocated the ban on the most popular selling centerfire rifle in America \u2013 the Modern Sporting Rifle (MSR),\u201d Oliva explained. \u201cHe has published a book advocating radical gun control policies.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cGlaringly absent, however, is any representative from the firearm and ammunition industry even though the industry is responsible for the vast majority of conservation funds through the Pittman-Robertson excise tax,\u201d Oliva continued. \u201cTo date, the firearm and ammunition industry has provided over $15.3 billion to wildlife conservation since 1937 and over $1.1 billion of the conservation funds apportioned to the states last year was directly tied to taxes paid by firearm and ammunition manufacturers.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe Biden administration has politicized this advisory council to legitimize Busse and the far-left gun control policies he and the gun control group he represents,\u201d Oliva concluded. \u201cThis is a sham and doesn\u2019t come close to representing the interests of lawful gun owners who hunt and are faithful stewards of the precious wildlife resources our nation enjoys.\u201d<\/p>\n Readers here are well aware of Busse<\/a>\u00a0and the danger he represents to the right to keep and bear arms. Once a highly compensated industry insider, he now masks his (that is, his Giffords benefactors\u2019) citizen disarmament goals with the obligatory big \u201cbut\u201d qualifier:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m still a proud gun owner who believes in responsibility,\u201d\u00a0Busse disingenuously claims<\/a>. By that, he means accusing his former employers of complicity in mass murders, dissing Kyle Rittenhouse\u2019s lawful acts of self-defense, and channeling his inner Antifa blackshirt by implying that his ideological opponents are Nazis by injecting \u201ca Norse tattoo known to be favored by white supremacists and by the \u2018QAnon\u2019 shaman\u201d into his argument.<\/p>\n The thing is, Busse\u2019s hardly alone.\u00a0 We\u2019ve seen all kinds of phony Astroturf \u201chunter\u201d groups show up over the years trying to recruit political support among uninformed or overtly leftist \u201csportsmen\u201d who have earned a \u201cFudd\u201d disparagement. I wrote an\u00a0article for\u00a0Firearms News<\/em><\/a>\u00a0a couple of years back recalling early efforts like the American Hunters and Shooters Association, and Sportsmen for Obama, and bringing things up to date with Giffords\u2019 Gun Owners for Safety.<\/p>\n Interestingly, one of the Council\u2019s alternate members, \u201cTheodore Sedgwick \u2026 representing wildlife & habitat conservation\/management organizations,\u201d is also listed as \u201cUnaffiliated.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSedgwick aimed to organize a chapter of \u2018Sportsmen for Obama\u2019 in every state to counter the gun lobby\u2019s portrayal of the candidate as hostile to its interests,\u201d\u00a0The Slovak Spectator recounted<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in 2010 when he was rewarded for his Democrat loyalties with an ambassadorship.<\/p>\n Noting Oliva\u2019s citing of the deliberate lack of industry representation, it\u2019s fair to wonder what an analysis of the rest of the names for political affiliations would yield.<\/p>\nI believe in the Second Amendment\u00a0but<\/em>\u2026<\/h3>\n
