Greg Gianforte (R) told the ATF their AR pistol stabilizer brace rule cannot be enforced in Montana.<\/p>\n<p>Missouri also has such a ban, as does Nebraska and Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/some-red-states-weigh-bans-on-enforcing-u-s-gun-laws-201e4719\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">noted<\/a> that Iowa, Ohio, Georgia, and other red states are now weighing bans on federal gun control enforcement.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Gaining traction: The pro-gun law opposed by gun groups and law enforcement <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6ba5UkXWEf\">https:\/\/t.co\/6ba5UkXWEf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; The Wall Street Journal (@WSJ) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WSJ\/status\/1629904238980616195?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 26, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Iowa state Rep.\u00a0Jeff Shipley (R) is pushing the ban in his state and the push is supported by\u00a0Carroll County Attorney John Werden.<\/p>\n<p>Werden said, \u201cI don\u2019t see this as a liberal or conservative issue. I see it as a states\u2019 rights issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Des Moines Register<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.desmoinesregister.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2022\/11\/09\/iowa-gun-constitutional-amendment-election-results-ballot-question-2022\/69610351007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">observed<\/a>\u00a0that Iowans voted to adopt a constitutional amendment on November 8, 2022, and the amendment exceeds the gun rights\u2019 protections contained in the Second Amendment.<\/p>\n<p>The amendment says, \u201cThe right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The sovereign state of Iowa affirms and recognizes this right to be a fundamental individual right.
