{"id":91994,"date":"2023-04-19T16:23:54","date_gmt":"2023-04-19T21:23:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=91994"},"modified":"2023-04-19T16:23:54","modified_gmt":"2023-04-19T21:23:54","slug":"91994","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=91994","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nraila.org\/articles\/20230418\/missouri-house-passes-public-transit-self-defense-church-carry-bill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Missouri: House Passes Public Transit Self-Defense &amp; Church Carry Bill<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last night, the House voted 102-45 to pass House Bill 282, to\u00a0ensure law-abiding citizens may carry firearms for self-defense on public transit, with an amendment by Representative Ben Baker, to allow places of worship to make their own security decisions.\u00a0It now goes to the Senate for further consideration.\u00a0<strong>Please contact your state senator and ask them to SUPPORT HB 282.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/house.mo.gov\/Bill.aspx?bill=HB282&amp;year=2023&amp;code=R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House Bill 282<\/a>\u00a0repeals arbitrary \u201cgun-free zones\u201d that do nothing to hinder criminals, while leaving law-abiding citizens defenseless. It removes the prohibition on law-abiding citizens carrying firearms for self-defense on public transit property and in vehicles. This ensures that citizens with varying commutes throughout their day, and of various economic means, are able to exercise their Second Amendment rights and defend themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The bill also repeals the prohibition in state law against carrying firearms for self-defense in places of worship.
