It\u2019s becoming undeniable: COVID came from a Chinese lab.<\/a><\/p>\n Evidence that COVID came from a Chinese lab mounted toward a conclusive level last week: \u201cMultiple government sources\u201d say the very first people infected by the bug were Wuhan Institute of Virology researchers, a new report reveals.<\/p>\n More, they were allegedly modifying a close relative of the virus with a key feature unique to it.<\/p>\n The report \u2014\u00a0by Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi and Alex Gutentag<\/a>, posted on the outlet Public \u2014 names Ben Hu, Yu Ping and Yan Zhu as WIV scientists who developed COVID symptoms as early as November 2019, a month before the world even heard of the outbreak, and who now appear to be \u201cpatients zero.\u201d<\/p>\n A source said officials were \u201c100%\u201d certain these three were the ones who developed the symptoms.<\/p>\n It\u2019s \u201ca game changer if it can be proven that Hu got sick with COVID-19 before anyone else,\u201d marvels World Health Organization expert Jamie Metzl. \u201cThat would be the \u2018smoking gun.\u2019 Hu was the lead hands-on researcher\u201d in the WIV lab.<\/p>\n Add in all the other evidence<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 especially the scientists\u2019 gain-of-function work using a close relative of the COVID bug \u2014 and it\u2019s now impossible to ignore the extreme likelihood that a leak from the lab sparked the global pandemic behind nearly 7 million deaths and untold economic harm.<\/p>\n It also points a damning finger at China for having waged the greatest coverup in history of the world \u2014 abetted by Westerners from Dr. Anthony Fauci\u00a0to Big Tech<\/a>\u00a0to countless liberals and left-leaning media voices who misled the public by pooh-poohing the lab-leak theory early on,\u00a0and\u00a0<\/em>actively suppressing those who pointed to evidence backing the theory.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Most tragically, per another report last week citing newly released cables, State Department officials believed the entire pandemic could\u2019ve been contained early on if China had alerted the world of the outbreak instead of censoring news of it.<\/p>\n Oh, and guess who paid for at least some of Wuhan lab research that now appears to have sparked the pandemic? That\u2019s right:\u00a0you.<\/em><\/p>\n A Government Accountability Office\u00a0breakdown Wednesday shows<\/a>\u00a0at least $2 million in US taxpayer funds went to the lab between 2014 and 2021, via the National Institute of Health, the University of California and a group called the EcoHealth Alliance.<\/p>\n Tuesday\u2019s report<\/a>\u00a0on Patients Zero, meanwhile, came on the heels of\u00a0another in the Sunday Times (of London)<\/a>, in which a US investigator says it\u2019s now become \u201cincreasingly clear\u201d the WIV \u201cwas involved in the creation, promulgation and cover-up of the Covid-19 pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n US scientists working with those at the WIV acknowledged their counterparts inserted \u201cfurin cleavage sites\u201d into SARS-like viruses in 2019.<\/p>\n And it\u2019s COVID\u2019s unique furin cleavage sites that make it so much more transmissible.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not fully clear exactly when government officials learned of the scientists or other key facts, but as early as April 30, 2020,\u00a0President Donald Trump said<\/a>\u00a0he\u2019d seen evidence that COVID came from a WIV lab, though he provided no details.<\/p>\n Then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo cited \u201cenormous evidence.\u201dAnd\u00a0Taibbi reports at Racket<\/a>\u00a0that \u201cnumerous federal agencies appear to have designed their probes of Covid-19\u2019s origins so as to discount the possibility of lab origin in advance.\u201d<\/p>\n That is, they worked to\u00a0avoid\u00a0<\/em>evidence that they presumably didn\u2019t want to know.<\/p>\n At least one intel agency even \u201coverruled a majority of its in-house investigators\u201d to produce a report discounting the lab-leak hypothesis.<\/p>\n The obvious motive for such suppression: avoiding any chance of stories linking US-funded research at WIV to the eventual deaths of millions \u2014 even if it meant covering for Beijing, too.<\/p>\n At some point, Washington is going to have to confront China on its horrific role in releasing the COVID plague and then covering it up.<\/p>\n A whole lot of US officials \u2014 and journalists \u2014 will also have a whole lot of explaining to do.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 3 years ago, this would have gotten one smeared as a racist science denier.
