Earlier today, an acquaintance who has a ‘source’ at NOAA had related this:

U.S. Navy Heard What It Believed Was Titan Implosion Days Ago<\/a>

WASHINGTON\u2014A top secret U.S. Navy acoustic detection system designed to spot enemy submarines first heard\u00a0the Titan sub implosion<\/a>\u00a0hours after the submersible began its mission,\u00a0officials involved in the search said.<\/div>\n
The Navy began listening for the Titan almost as soon as the sub lost communications, according to a U.S. defense official.<\/div>\n

Shortly after its disappearance, the U.S. system detected what it suspected was the sound of an implosion near the debris site discovered Thursday and reported its findings to the commander on site, U.S. defense officials said.<\/div>\n

\u201cThe U.S. Navy conducted an analysis of acoustic data and detected an anomaly consistent with an implosion or explosion in the general vicinity of where the Titan submersible was operating when communications were lost,\u201d a senior U.S. Navy official told The Wall Street Journal in a statement.<\/div>\n
